This is a very easy and fast method to use the CLIP for BIOS flashing. However, always desoldering the BIOS chip if possible. This will prevent programming errors and motherboard damage.

Curious about the line 800 removal part as well when going from cab to bin.. what exactly is occurring in that step? For other motherboards/bios chips, is the line 800 a standard or does that line number change by manufacturer etc?

I'm confused too, because for my model it already downloaded as a bin file

Great video, how do you figure out if your bios is corrupted though? (And not the cpu/gpu/ram is dead)

How do you know that 800 lines need removal? Does all of the information in the .cap file before the beginning of the bios section need to be removed? In my ASUS P8H77V bios .cap file, when viewing with UEFI Tool, there is an Intel section with ME after the AMI aptiva capsule header. I've tried to create .bin files from ASUS .cap many times now, with no removal of lines, then as you showed. Either way, I get verification errors: like this one when flashing the IC with the file that removed the first 800 lines: Verification error on address: 0x000005E0, Device: 0xFF, Buffer: 0x1C. When I read the IC and create a file, compare it to the .bin file that was written (using HxD as well asn NeoProgrammer), the files are identical. Either way though, when inserting the IC in the board and booting (after battery removal and CMOS clear), no boot.

Is it also 800 offset if the BIOS chip and file is 32MB? Thanks.

Hello sir, can this method be used on the BIOS chip of a Lenovo laptop? I just flashed the BIOS yesterday and my laptop doesn't display anything except a black screen, with the caps lock and esc lights always on after pressing the power button and the fan spinning. I have tried many methods online but without success.

1. Even putting the clip on the BIOS isn't 100% and needs some practice 2. Lenovo EPROM contains more than the BIOS so making sure your get a correct image to reflash with is essential. Probably need to talk to expert user community to sort this out.
