The affinity change saved me so much trouble. I can't be grateful enough for this. It was so frustrating to have a mic and audio interface that sounds as clean as possible in your own headphones' monitoring to sound like absolute garbage when talking on discord. You've earned a fat subscribe man!

Thats really annoying... If I change the affinity to any 1 (or 2 or 3) cores it instantly makes the problem worse until I select all cores again.

Thank you! The AudioDG multi-core thing fixed it! Everyone was hearing me all staticky specifically in Discord and I couldn't figure out why. Audio recordings sounded fine, in-game voice chat sounded fine, I guess it's because it considers Discord a "communications program" it tries doing its weird audio-enhancing thing on it but it just results in static. Switching to one core fixed it!

I need help i used voiceeometer and than uninstalled it my microphone only on discord cuts out constantly i used different mics and it has destroyed just discord. no matter what mic i use when i plug it into my computer now it has issues i have completely uninstalled voiceeometer files all of them.... pls help

I never knew about the CPU affinity one. Ever since I downloaded a virtual audio cable so that I could use Voicemeeter I've always had issues with discord. Anytime outside of discord everything would work perfect but whenever I tried to use it in discord there was always a static or buzzing meaning it was usless. After using the priority and affinity method everything starting working. Thank you so much!

My fix was going into sounds, and since I run my mic through Voicemeter, for some reason my voicemeter was at a different Hz and bitrate than my microphone. So after matching them I sound smooth as butter again :D The information on which cores are actual physical cores definitely helps in my choice of those though very helpful bud.

using voicemeter too. got new headsetm reconfig voicemeter but the only thing that sounds bad is discord with static. this comment is VERY helpful as i don't believe it to be the new headset, but the fact I'm running virtual cables too

Changing Hardware Out (which is your headphones/speakers) on Voicemeeter Banana from WDM to MME fixed the crackling issue for me. But I still followed the tricks given in this video anyways. Thank you :)

thank you, for me since i use voice meter i had to change the volume of the "cable output" to the same as my mic, i also did this with the voice meter "Voicemeeter aux output" just to make sure that it wouldn't be a problem later in the future if anything changes. its also important to remember that if you do this to change your volume on all platforms that you use to match accordingly.

If anyone can't find a fix from this vid I just found mine. Go into sounds, recording tab, right click microphone and open properties. Go to advanced and change your mic to 2 channel 24 bit 44100hz. Mine was at 48000hz for some reason, and this single change fixed my mic. Hope this helps someone out there that struggled for 30 minutes like I did.

Solution for Focusrite-users! I had Sample-rate maxed out (1024). Changed it to anything below 192 and its gone! :D (Windows menu down to the right, Focusrite icon, settings -> change samplerate)

Hey Franswah, funny that your video just came up on my feed since I was reading your thread on your forums regarding the same issue. I'm using VoiceMeeter and a Focusrite Scarlet Solo (3rd gen). My microphone sounds completely fine on Discord UNTIL I start streaming -- only then does it get mildly staticky. None of these methods have worked in solving the problem. I'm not sure why it only happens with streaming on Discord... it's fine on OBS, Audition, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the video. Unfortunately, none of the methods in the video resolved my issue. However, I was able to fix it by opening the Windows Sound setting by pressing the "WIN + R" keys, entering "mmsys.cpl" press Enter, then go to the Recording tab, select VoiceMeter Output > click Properties > Advanced > make sure the sample rate (Hz) is the same as your microphone, in my case "48000 Hz". The bit rate can differ, my mic is 16 bit (DVD Quality) and VoiceMeter Output is 24 bit (Studio Quality) then restart Voice Meter and Discord.

Thanks so much disabled all the voice processing in Discord and now all is good - I'm using Light Host/Voice Meeter to send my mic audio through VST plugins before sending it to any app (Zoom, Teams, OBS, Discord) and discord Voice Processing was messing it up bad

If you are experiencing audio cracking on Discord, I discovered that the issue was a misconfiguration in the Hz settings of the Voicemeeter cable. My microphone operates at 48,000 Hz, 16-bit, while Voicemeeter was set to 44,000 Hz, 24-bit. By simply adjusting the Voicemeeter output to match my microphone's specifications (16-bit, 48,000 Hz), the problem was easily resolved.
