It’s complicated now for newer versions, needs activation codes and etc from a forum guy. I have an older version (like 14.0) and it didn’t have all those issues but it did take a lot of work to get the drivers and permissions for the software and cable to work on Windows 7, at the time.

I stumbled onto your video while looking up possible misfire issues. So far I've change all 6 plugs with Denso Iridium plugs and Denso coils. I also replaced the valve cover gaskets due to finding oil in the tubes as you did. The misfire code PS301 is still present. Swapping coils and plugs does not change the condition. I'm at a loss. I'd prefer not to take it to the dealer, but at this time I'm totally frustrated. Good video by the way.

I’ve had this problem a lot in my 2009 Is250 usually I will usually clean my mass air flow sensor and change my air filter. Last night was different i lost hp then pulled over turned off car the started it again it didn’t clear it when it usually does . Thanks for your video

Injectors would be last resort. They are expensive and don’t fail often.

This is a great video. I actually have a problem where the car will vibrate when im cruising and then once i ease off the gas it stops. This happens on and off as I cruise at whatever speed. I changed the coil packs and spark plugs and don’t know what’s going on.

Have you checked if engine mounts are broken? That usually causes vibration at high speed and rpm.

I have p0301 misfire swapped plus and spark plugs, got even new ignition coil. Still same code. Misfires, loss of power, blinking engine check light , vsc on and traction control light on, I just can’t figure it out. What do you think?

@Binh Nguyen-Tuner with Kids had a code referencing bad coil pack or bad plugs in cylinder 4. I disconnected the battery, but decided to go and buy the parts, plugged the battery back no check engine light, but AC now doesn't work until i give it gas. And it also is sluggish. I changed the plugs and coil in Cylinder 4. Now the check engine light is on again. AC Still needs gas to work well or Ihave to drive it, any Ideas. I got the plugs from Advanced auto, did I need to Check the Gapping before I installed it?

plugs in aluminum heads its common to see them loosen up sometimes and first time on new plug should be tighten a little more than and used one to seat the metal seal on bottom of plug

Was it under hard acceleration when the code came up? Been having this on/off issue where under hard acceleration, sometimes it will go into limp mode and shart shuttering. Finally gave me an actual code for a misfire in cylinder 3+4. Trying to figure out where to start

It just happened randomly. Ended up being a bad spark plug. But to diagnose, swap the suspect coils around to see if code follows the cylinder.

I had the same thing happened to me today. The engine light was flashing, I was able to pull over right away and scan it. P0303 code. Now what is super weird ? After turning the car off and turning the car back on, the check engine light was off. Totally bizarre. Maybe the code will come back if it’s a intermittent failure with the coil or spark plugs.

probably coils going bad. Luckily the codes pinpoint which cylinder to look at. If its an easy side, try swapping around to see if the code follows the coils.

The last owner of the car changed those and they were new BUT… he didn’t change the spark plugs underneath and my mechanic friend and I noticed the plugs were worn. Not sure why the last owner didn’t change the spark plugs as well and just put in all 6 new ignition coils.

you haven't had an issue where the car shakes and rpms start going up and down when you stop at a red light? I read somewhere that it may be carbon build-up.

Probably is carbon. Redline every day helps burn off some of that fresh oil. I installed an oil catch can last year too. Will walnut blast next time I do a full spark plug change and the manifold has to come off.

@@TunerwithKids I'm not a mechanic but changed valve cover gasket once and in my understanding there is no oil in combustion chamber where the bottom of the spark plug is. When the spark plug is loose where is oil coming from? I'm about to buy 2010 is250 Lexus which has misfire in 2 cylinders, was looking for common problems and found your video. I also had an issue with misfire on another car when intake valve was stuck open and I'm not fixing it for sure. I wish I had spark plug issue anywhere lol

The is250 is direct injection so their is oil in the air from the PCV system recirculating it and it gets into the valves and cylinders and doesn’t burn off. This is what causes the carbon buildup in this car. So some of that oil somehow ended up in the spark plug cylinders from being loose (my theory).

Will try to examine deeper if I can and be allowed to do it. Based on your experience is carbon built-up a big deal/hard to fix? Also 118k miles enough to run into this issue? IDK. Usually you don’t torque plugs. It’s tighten and then 1/2 turn for crush washer.

Not really cause the fuel pump sends fuel and pressurizes the system. Misfire is lack of spark.

@@TunerwithKids I got a 02 sienna, bank 1 is shoehorned under the intake damn near under da firewall, I gotta take off the cowl and all type of stuff to get to that bank. I'd rather have that straight six lol. I got codes on cylinder 3 and 5 smh. Felt like a transmission issue like u said.
