I followed the first part of your video, disconnected the battery and held the power button down for a minute. Once I reconnected the battery the monitor turned on a the Chrome login screen appeared! The battery showed very low so I plugged it in and the charging light lit right up! Thank you so much! The Chromebook is only 2 years old but is out of warranty. You saved us!

My sons Chromebook turned off when he plugged it in, couldn't get it to turn on or have the light come on at all when plugged on. I got the battery unplugged and plugged in the charger and it came on. Thankfully he can temporarily use it like this till I can order a new battery. Saved me $$ and having to have my computer stolen from my kid lol Thank you!

Simply unplugging the battery and putting it back in helped. Turns out it wasn’t the charger or the battery gone bad, just that my son had dropped his chromebook and it came lose. Thanks so much for your video! I was worried it died completely

Thank you so much. Asus Chromebook, it was working fine since we got it. I took a break from using it for maybe a month, and when I came back nothing. When I plugged it in the LED would show white, then red and then go off. Astounded I was having any issue with it because it has been so reliable for a long time. Followed your tips and got it to turn on with battery unplugged. I actually had tried the hard reset previously and was curious if unplugging and reconnecting the battery might have helped so I reconnected it and plugged in charger now I have a charging light and it started right up! Excellent video!

Omg it worked ! I have an acer laptop and it’s never had any problems ( never has it been dropped nor damaged in some sort of liquid ). Today I was watching KZbin and it suddenly shut off . Omg my daughter samsung chromebook didn't want to charge yesterday after we sheltered in place (crazy Florida storm decided to turn up a tornado was 13miles away but was heading our way) after that it just wasn't charging. I was thinking she damaged the charging port and was looking up what I could do. Found your video and her computer is working again. @@ivyy6613 The battery is most likely inside your computer. The cord plugs into the computer and should be easily unplugged. You would get into the Chromebook as shown here. If you would like a more specific video on your exact model, I would need the exact model number of your Chromebook.

I checked the plug connection and what d you know it was the three prong connection that wasn’t pushed all the way in. As soon as you said to check the plug I did and viola! The light in my charge turned orange! I’ve never been so happy that it worked! So now I can hold on to the new battery I bought from Amazon and also another chrome book that I gave to my son. Great tutorials. You are providing your viewers a valuable service in understanding computers. When you shut the lid on a laptop and the monitor lcd powers off, what internal switch is at work. I used a magnet that I held at the top left corner of my Acer 13 chromebook and the screen shuts down. When I move the magnet away, the screen powers on. Is there a magnetic switch that shuts the lcd off as you are about to close lid?

I just wanted to come on here and say I figured out how to get the back off my chromebook 14. Very carefully lol , removed the battery because strangely on these its not so easy unplugging it, the cord connection to the hardware is thinner and closer together making it hard to pinch and pull out , upon removing battery, hold it in your left or right hand and with the other hand that is free unplug it with that one. And hold down power button releasing any extra energy , I held it for about a minute. Plugged in the power cord to my outlet and bam. Its on !!! Now to figure out if releasing the energy was the issue or if the battery itself is. Will comment back with answer. But overall this worked !!!! Thanks so much !

Thanks for the video. I was about to banish my Samsung Chromebook into the closet for eternity as it wouldn't power up plugged in and no LED. I got it free with my S21 a few months ago, so no loss. I decided to unplug the battery and it worked off mains power. I plugged the battery back in and all was good. Magic? Wizardry? Perhaps. I'm happy I have my little kick around CB back. Thanks for the tip!
