Thank you for showing this. I got lucky and got them to warranty mine. It’s nice to finally know what the faulty part was.

What did you tell them to get it warrantied? They are telling me they will repair it, but not for free! Did they give you a new revision of MB or did they repair the chip like this?

@@dssguy1 I was within warranty on mine. They were making me pay shipping when that shouldn’t be the case when a part goes bad and it’s their fault that it’s bad. At least in the business that I am in that’s not how it works. I had a tvs-672n and they said they would most likely replace the unit. I then got a brand new tvs-672x back. This was also within the 2 year warranty. I know they extended it to 3 years though because of this issue. I believe the good board is v1.7 but I do not trust this unit anymore because of all this. If they just released bios updates maybe it could get fixed? I dunno. I really don’t know what causes the problem.

Nick did a repair on my TVS-672N a few weeks ago and did an amazing job. I really appreciated how he sent updates at each step of the process. Now I am wondering if my unit will make it onto a video.

Haha glad to hear you had a positive experience with our repairs! I don't believe we are going to make more videos on these types of units as I already have 2 or 3, unless one unit comes in with some very strange unsual failure.

I have this same machine with the i3 cpu can i upgrade to a i5 cpu if so which one
@NicksElectronicRepair Жыл бұрын
Yes you can upgrade to an i5. I would recommend checking in with QNAP directly for specifics. Because I haven't done it myself I just want to make sure I don't give you the wrong info. They still support this unit so you should be able to ask them in their support chat.
