How to fix DEF metering valve on freightliner cascadia clear code snp 4364 / SPN 3361

sure thing i was getting these codes on my dd13 van hool 2011 air restriction. i got the def metering valve out and on the injector filter was clogged with def crystalized. i cleaned it with hot water putted back and did a force regen. not only cleared the codes, but force regen finished 100% clear. on the bottom of the air filter their is another piece that i had to removed for me that was the part that was clogged. i would suggest to your viewer to see another video as well as this one, to have a complete cleaning of unit. I saw another video that cleaned only the part of it that you didn't clean. Now, I watched yours and I have the full information about disassembling and putting it back together. Thank you. *the only part that you didn't clean was that piece that takes the air input. In between that piece and the output, there is some sort of reduction that gets clogged with DEF.

Remember when he took the flathead screws out, which are the filters? Always put them in hot water to get the white crystal def off unless you have def cleaning solutions. Everything else is A- ok 👍

What parts would I need to buy in order to fix my truck? It's a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia. The active code is SPN 3226 FMI 20. I have been getting the red triangle 🔺️ with the exclamation point. It then goes into manual and won't go past 5 mph.

Check all fuel injectors with a diagnostic laptop , they can see each injector the should all be near to zero, if one is too high it needs to be replaced, , i had that issue once and it fixed it, also clean the doser injector. Let me know if u fix it

I did that worked for a few months and now check light came up again. 4335. Low pressure again. Just gonna buy it. I replace thet other pressure valve that sits on the frame. And that injector it's not easy to pull out I didn't want to break it so I didn't remove it hard ..

One thing he forget to mention is the cleaning out the stainless steel braided line that screws onto the bottom right of valve and screws into scr box that can be clogged too wonderful def system

this valve only has 1 air line , check the fitting it may be leaking air, its a 1/4 hose

I've seen 4364 usually I change the outlet nox sensor, but I always do scr conversion test to trouble shoot this. Because indeed nox conversion always goes down during diesel dosing on a regen. Still the same problem ?

Have you ever had that code, and while doing the scr efficiency test the the scr efficiency stays between 91-96 percent but when you do a Regen to clear the code the scr efficiency drops to about 25 percent?

@@alanjuarez318 yes, once the diesel dosing starts it might be because filters are cracked, but it also could be a bad scr, or even built up def fluid. When the scr is bad it usually starts to fail when dpf outlet temp reaches 900°, but scr inlet temp sensor should be 80 degrees less than dpf outlet temp.

I have low def pressure. I replaced the def pump about 3 months prior to getting this code. I've had the code for 3 weeks now and I replace to pnemautic switch valve from the def pump and the other screen before that. Now the pressure limiting unit. I have the def doser but haven't switched it out. Bolts feel like they might break. I haven't done this to the metering unit. Will this clear low def pressure code? Or what code was casing this?

Keep getting low pressure and won't do a full regen. I don't think it's the out sensor as it does pick up some pressure. This might be the problem. I noticed air kicking back out from the airline. I changed the quick connect, but I'm not convinced that is it. I will try this next if it doesn't work.

have you tried changing the def filter, also on the dpf box, there's a braided def hose, that goes from metering unit to the dpf box(one box) make sure the hose is not clogged from dry def, and where the hose connects to the dpf box also make sure is not clogged

Carlos Waldo I've been getting this code too. What he did I do at least twice a year. Screen's are cheap. It helps but that code can also be dirty def. Have your mechanic do a quantity check test and see how clean your def is coming out of tank. Mine comes out sort of brown. Even with new filters.
