How to fix ELM327 wifi conection problem (Android or iOS)

With some cars it will connect the phone and device with Bluetooth, but when you try to check codes it will say can't connect to ECU or suchlike. In that case go into Torque settings, click OBD 2 Adapter Settings, and then Choose Bluetooth Device and make sure you check the OBD 2 box. That one really had me stumped for a bit.

It might be faulty but after connecting ELM ‌to OBD2 connector did you put the switch on the ON position?

Maybe. But first check if you put the switch in ON position first then check with another car and also another phone.

Did you put the switch on ON position? There is not any special problem that you can't do it. Just try with another phone and at last another car

Question, my ELM327 arrived in ADHOC mode (stupid) for 6 years i would use it searching non stop for an STN or Infrastructre mode or Version of the product, one day i decided to see if port 80 is open , it was (HTTP GUI), i switched it to Station mode, i entered SSD, Encryption (WPA2PSK CCMP) and the key ( even kept a screen shot) the ELM327 connects a few seconds to the AP and disconnects. I made sure the AP is set to the same Encryption type, and key... I even set a static/Fixed in the ELM327 .. Any tips? The unit is close to AP, tried many APs, legacy, wrt54g, dd-wrt. different channels. no go .

Well please check the ELM327 unit with any other unit to make sure if it is OK or not. Then restore any changes to default mode and try again. Could you change the software that you are using?

I asked this ( you also will knew it if you have made some research) because many drivers here in KZbin complain that the ELM327 can not be recognized by their ECU and some suggested the first they must run the CD driver of the package in their home PC, then download it in their (android) cell phone and they must go to their car for install.
