Question, my ELM327 arrived in ADHOC mode (stupid) for 6 years i would use it searching non stop for an STN or Infrastructre mode or Version of the product, one day i decided to see if port 80 is open , it was (HTTP GUI), i switched it to Station mode, i entered SSD, Encryption (WPA2PSK CCMP) and the key ( even kept a screen shot) the ELM327 connects a few seconds to the AP and disconnects. I made sure the AP is set to the same Encryption type, and key... I even set a static/Fixed in the ELM327 .. Any tips? The unit is close to AP, tried many APs, legacy, wrt54g, dd-wrt. different channels. no go . tHANK YOU IN ADVANCE

There are different versions off this dongle's. Version 1.5 is the original ELM327, version 2.2 is the Chinese version and doesn't work with abs protocols.

i have the same item and my phone dont even see it by bluetooth and wifi says obtaining ip address and then nothing it don't connect go back to it in the list and it says saved click it again and some thing my wifes phone says internet connection slow and don't connect either any thoughts?

If you find out let me know please.I get,none secure site. Also found there is a lot more to download on the disc than you expect.What with drives,and making sure you get the right one.This has one for Android one for ios and another for PC..Perhaps you are using the PC one and you need ios ??

@@youraveragejoe2 Nah man, its better to get the more expensive device than these cheaper stuff. Didn't work, tried multiple different apps as well. Just a hint on that adapters that many adverts don't say, all European model vehicles like Mercedes, Volkswagen,Audi,Opel,Fiat,Renault,Volvo etc won't work on that adapters I tested, only American model vehicles like Honda,Toyota,Ford, Jeep etc will work. Reason for that all European models make use of EOBD and all American models make use of OBD. So that is the reason that adapters did not work, because the adapters were not EOBD compliant since I am in European continent. I bought a Konweii kw850 that is EOBD for my volkswagen, even still didn't get it to connect due to the dealer using a special hex code reader that these devices cant read will need to use more expensive readers like Autel or Vag-com. But all this seem to differ in the area you are. But to answer your question, no i didn't figure it out lol I gave up. Ended up being too much of a headache to connect this damn stuff. But goodluck man!

The video seems to skip setting up the IP. Is it Static or DHCP? What IP did you use? What port? Did you have to make changes for it to work? I am asking because I couldn't get mine to connect. Of course it could be a bad scanner. I have the one shown in this video.
