to reset settings you need face id. after you enter your passcode it needs face id. to reset face ID you need face ID because of stole device protection, to take that off u need face id.

Thanks for video mate but I still got a problem 😞. 12 Pro Max, all original Hardware, No facial changes/glasses. Cleaned screen, no screen protector changes or anything. 2 days ago Face ID randomly stopped working. First tried to reset Face ID. It reset but then upon setting it up again I kept getting an error. Tried rebooting, didn’t work, tried force reset still not working. I made a post on the iPhone reddit page and someone with the same phone stated they had the exact same problem begin around when mine happened.

@@phungtran2046 Is your problem solved,? I don't have it yet, even though face id runs to scan spatial audio and selfie portraits, but it can't be used for lock screen. Has been checked by apple support diagnostic, there is no hardware error. :(

I'm new to having an iPhone with facial recognition and I've got a question. is it supposed to make me enter my password to re-enable face ID every time I stop using it for a few hours? what it seems to do is try to scan for my face when I'm not nearby after powering itself on when I get notifications

Face ID not recognizing me and can't "Reset Face ID"….So I've had my iPhone 15 Pro for a few months now and never had a single issue with Face ID recognition. I've shaved my face twice since I got the phone and it recognized me both times afterwards no problem, but just a few days ago when I shaved again, all of a sudden it stopped recognizing me. The problem here though is that I cannot "Reset Face ID" because it requires my Face ID to get into that setting to change or reset. Matter of fact, I can't even "Reset All Settings" or really do anything because it keeps requiring my Face ID.....which it all of a sudden does not recognize. I did update to the latest iOS 17.5 version recently so I'm wondering if that's the reason, maybe a bug (even though it was working fine in the few days between the update and now). It's beyond frustrating. I'm coming from Android and Samsung phones, so if this crap continues I'm going right back. So....who else is having this issue because I know it's not just me lolllll.

Yeah it’s just you get it checked my 14 pro max opens when I’m in bed under the covers with either side of my face on the pillow it’s awesome or it might be the light sensor record the screen on another phone trying to open ur phone with Face ID there should be a purple light flashing from the Dynamic Island

Or you could backup all your stuff on iCloud and factory reset the phone and start the Face ID again

I've also done a lot of tutorials, but it still doesn't work. My Face ID cannot be registered, it always appears "not available" or stuck in "position your face". Strangely, Face ID can be used to scan custom spatial audio and selfie portraits (you can check with another camera if a red light appears during this process, it means Face ID is working well). Very frustrated because of this :(
