I have a 2014 Evoque and I had the same issue, I followed your video and it took more than 30 minutes,took more like a few hours
@GusM-DIY2 жыл бұрын
It should take around one hour with all tools, if you dont remove the driveshaft you only have to drop the gas tank and from there change the filter
@adrianjimenez36142 жыл бұрын
@@GusM-DIY if you're lucky it's an hour, if the driveshaft is seized it will take longer, if the fuel tank is full you need a transmission jack to lower and raise it and then you would have to disconnect the exhaust

@@adrianjimenez3614 glad you were able to get it fixed and saved yourself some money man 🤘🏽

For anyone considering doing this, there is no shot this comes off without removing the entire prop shaft. If you have a 2012 it does not just slide off. I’ve been going at mine for 2 days and the shaft is still stuck on. The tank doesn’t drop enough to remove the styrofoam without the shaft being off so I’m pretty much stuck here

After I replaced the fuel filter with a new one, the fuel indicator light is no longer correct, where should I adjust it?

It should correct it self right away. Could be defective filter. Also try unplugging and plugging in the battery. Thanks for looking!

Man that’s sucks I’m sorry, do you know why it seized? Did it have an oil leak or burn oil? Turbo chargers go out before 100k on many of these, I had to change mine out. I’ll be uploading the video sometime
@killersleeve3822 жыл бұрын
How did you know it was the fuel filter and not a hole in the tank? I have a leak in the exact same spot and there was a small amount of liquid on top of the filter but I don’t see any when running

You can tell that the leak comes from the top, plus after I changed it never leaked again

on the filter where you connect the fuel pipe, there should be a Fuel tank vapor connection or am I missing something?

I have the same issue, I went to a mechanic he quoted me $3260!!!!! 😱 To replace that part!!!
@GusM-DIY2 жыл бұрын
Oh man, that’s insane, try do it yourself , get your self a good set of tools , jacks and give a it try, looks harder than it really is. It took me a couple of days just because had to figure out how to drop the gas tank. Also, you should be able to do it without dropping the shaft 🤙🏽
@GirlsNDragonsАй бұрын
Why is the title “30 minutes” but in your description you admit it took you all day, and then proceed to say if you don’t drop main shaft you “might” be able to do it in an hour. None of that makes any sense. You’re creating clickbait and unrealistic expectations for people. FYI. You guys are getting ripped. The labor rate is 3.5 hours. I have no idea why you guys are quoted thousands for this.
@GusM-DIYАй бұрын
Depends on your skill level, your welcome for showing you how to save you thousands of dollars from the dealership ( yes that’s how much they will changer you Land Rover dealer ship) you may take it there 👍🏽
@GirlsNDragonsАй бұрын
@@GusM-DIYI own a mechanic shop, that’s why I know you guys are getting ripped at your own dealerships/shops. But 30 minutes is unrealistic period, doesn’t matter the skill level. I just think you should edit the title and be more honest. This video could get alot of DIYers in a sticky situation
