Recharge
If you see the red empty icon your iphone may not be able to work until it has a minimum of charge in the battery.
Restart
Press and keep holding down the sleep/wake button on the top of the handset until the red slider appears on the screen. Slide it across to turn it off then repeat to turn the phone back on.
You Try
-Press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds.
If the red slider appears or the screen dims, keep pressing the two buttons until the apple logo appears.
-If all else fails, you will need to perform a full back up and Restore your iPhone.

Mines show the powering icon ( it was iPhone 6) , and when I start powering it , stays literally for days .. still hasn’t turned on .. I’m using the original charger , not damaged (working on other apple devices ) , has tried all combinations of holding the buttons but the logo hasn’t showed even once .. cleaned out my port like 3 times , .. ( I got a new one recently btw , but I have some photos and other stuff on there I don’t really want to lose , if someone had that problem and solved it , I’curious how 👇 )
