Hello. I've got an iPhone 7 where its Touch ID function does not work. I've replaced the battery and did not even touch the home button. When I was disassembling the device, I did pry up the screen from the left side of the phone. It's not saying "unable to activate..", but it doesn't work anyway. Double-Tap to open one handed mode works as well. The home button works too. What could be causing it?

If you put a authentic or oem on Touch ID button on any iPhone that has a Touch ID it won’t work because it needs the exact numbers of the Touch ID to the phone. So Touch ID won’t work but home button will.

You can get home buttons that restore home button function without touch ID. I recommend you take it to a local repair shop and see if they have any, you normally need a whole sale business account to buy them

I live in Canada. I wonder if there’s anybody who could do this for me. I am totally blind and wouldn’t even think of trying this because I can’t actually see what’s being done. I have an iPhone SE original. Apple replaced the battery a few months ago. I wonder if they damaged it? Hope I am actually covered for that. I love that there are so many people providing do it yourself solutions for Apple devices. But, because I’m blind, these are not accessible to me so I need to find somebody who would do this at a reasonable price.

Ricardo Rodríguez Mostly people trying to repair their devices and not being careful with the flex cable. I have a technique I use to remove these buttons inside 5 seconds without heat, and without damaging the button at all.
