How To Fix Jammed FPV Motor

I watched an episode from Slatt FPV where he mentioned the possibility of saving bent motors. After my last session, I ended up with 3 jammed motors that needed fixing. So I thought I'll give it a go instead of waiting for Slatt to post his method. Warning, my method is simply a trial and error. Perhaps we should still wait for Slatt to show how he does it to save his motors and keep them flying!
But without a doubt, the credit should go to Slatt because otherwise I'll not have thought of this idea and be ordering new motors! So subscribe to him if you have not! No homo but he is by far my favourite FPV pilot so far!

This is a sick tip, although I'd recommend against using the pliers like that - you may end up bending the bell inwards on the opposite side. My buddy F-Core showed me this, but he instead put a 1.5mm hex driver up thru the post and used that for leverage to bend it back. Usually when I have a motor that takes a dump, it's either because of this or because the rubber o-ring is worn away and the bell is scraping the windings.

Thanks, man! Was looking for Slatt's vid but yours popped up first. Did the trick and I thought that my motor was wasted. I could see that the bell was also deformed from the impact. I figured it was already broke so if I wasted a magnet it was no worse. Pliers on the bell and also some tweaking on the shaft and it works! Woot! Xing 2306.

Yesterday I jammed my motor of my cinewhoop. I crashed in very dusty place i turtle mode and then I couldn't take off so I also did the walk of shame to go and retrieve my drone. When I went there I tried to arm my drone and I saw that three motors were spinning okay but one was spinning slowly and stopping. I order a motor from banggood but I know I have to wait at least a month to arrive so I will try to fix it like you did. Thank you so much for the info. Mounting the shaft in a drill and taping with a rubber hammer or a regular hammer with a old rag to soften the blow is the best way I've found. if you over tap it just use a flat head screw driver or something to bend it back a little. Try not to do too much back and forth cause it will fatigue the metal... small adjustments and then check it is the way to go. Hope this helps :)

Damn today my evoque f5d got stuck in a tree and it took forever for me to get it back to the ground.. was like 25 feet high and finally i got it down after like 3,4 hours of hard work and trial and error lol. But now i tried it and one motor doesnt work, even tho it look completely fine. The only difference to the other 3 working motors is that when i spin it by hand its just slightly harder to spin.. so im not sure if its the same issue as your video shows.. the drone landed on mud so it didnt get a hard blow on the motor but maybe that fall was enough to break it anyway. When i try to start it it just doesnt turn, doesnt even try to turn or anything, is just dead. But im exhausted for today lol, i will try your method tomorrow i think and i hope i can save it.. im getting a tbs tracer module soon and gotta buy a tracer rx anyway so if i cant save the motor then ill just also buy motor and will have to replace it sadly. Goddamn those trees fr. Thanks for reading my essay 😂

I have not tried this on any none unibell but should work if the bell remains intact. Else try replacing the bell first :)
