I am a non-Urdu speaking Karachiite - I was in University when Mustafa Kamal was the mayor and in my group of friends there were people who were Sindhi, Urdu, Balochi and we all loved Mustafa Kamal as he was delivering for Karachi and I remember having this conversation that despite MQM's kameena-pan, we might still vote for MQM because of Mustafa Kamal. Mustafa Kamal's past record shows that he can deliver unlike other parties who just talk and do nothing. PSP should record and publish 1 minute videos of young men that Mustafa Kamal helped bring back to their mothers - nothing wrong with marketing for a good cause.

Great podcast and whatever I could understand from the conversation is that Mustafa Kamal is not a politician who is here to win election. He is a leader with vision for his city which will improve the living conditions of current generations as well as that of future generations All the best to him as you hardly find people like him with clear thoughts and plan of action

Good podcast. Although he has a violent history and has been associated with a party which was the worst thing which happened to karachi that is mqm. But now when he says that he is trying to do inclusive politics and is talking about all sindhis, balochs so now its a good thing. One disagreement on Tax, he is wrong on it, Karachi share of tax is on port services, sales tax is on product & paid by consumer. Yes collection is on port, same here in Newyork , stock market is in NYC but it don’t mean all money & tax belong to New York city. If port is in Karachi then all Sindh water comes from Punjab, with out Sindh river Sindh is a desert. If rest of country is using port then Sindh/Karachi is using River. One more example, Unilever plant is in Rahim Yar khan but tax is collected in Karachi as the headquarter is in Karachi, same with all the banks, out of thousand, 900 branches in rest of country but all tax is paid in Karachi. Another Exports don’t have Sales tax. Another point , port can be moved to Gawader then this myth of tax can be silenced. One more Afghanistan-use the port , how much sales tax they deposit in Karachi 🤓🤓 they only pay port service fee.

Point was not all belong to Karachi. It was matter about priority. Such as Gawader or Rikodiq are in Baluchistan so Baluchis deserve more than anybody else in same way the nature given rivers irrigate Punjab first. If you have time compare NYCs budget and spending with Nevadas.
