THANK YOU!!!!! My "ADD WATER" light would not come on, so I used some canned air. I put the canned air tube nozzle into the vent hole at the top, then pushed my finger down onto the black valve on the bottom where the tank plugs into and blew air into it.. Then the water was forced out of the sensor tube at the bottom. Now it works again. You helped me BIGTIME !!!! You are AWSOME!!!!

@@JustADad I just watched this video and when he showed it was actually a vent hole, I went and grabbed my canned air and did the same thing. I was just about to post the same process when I saw yours. I had just gotten off the phone with Keurig and they recommended buying a new machine and I said absolutely not, someone online will have a fix for it. Atleast I know how to take the machine apart if I have another issue that may need that so thank you.

Recently the add water light stopped working on my elite. After watching your video and seeing how the vent tubing and switch work I was able to fix the problem with canned air. I removed the water tank and depressed the plunger valve. While holding the plunger valve open I blew computer compressed air into the vent hole you showed at the top of the machine. All fixed. Working fine again. Thank you!

🔵SOLVED🔵- My add water light stayed off even though the reservoir was not attached. I think what happened was when I tipped the machine to read the model number on the bottom (I needed to get instructions on how to descale) probably the sensor tube filled with water. After watching this video, I jiggled the machine a bit and I saw the light so to speak. 🔵 Thanks DAD!

This worked for me. The machine was pretty easy to get apart, mine must have had air in the sensor tube, because pulling the chassis off popped the little black piece off, and while turning the machine upside down to retrieve that piece, small amounts of water and coffee came out that didnt come out before. Thank you - this video helped tremendously- I took a straw and blew air in that top vent hole that is on the side where the water container is while pressing down on the water inlet until air came out and then again until water came out through the spout - and behold the light came back on! Thank you.

Dear Just A Dad...This video is phenomenal.!!. it so happens I have/had the exact brewer. The power cord failed right at the wall socket and it was turning the machine on and off as you jiggled it. I originally registered the elite. I called Keurig and asked for a Replacement Power Cord which I knew they would never do as I was years out of warranty.. So with some begging, I persuaded them to sell me another at 20% off. Not good enough, ask for supervisor.. 50% off. $189.99 to $99.00. I thought that was decent. I just tested it, and put the 10 year old one out for the trash. The strange thing was I tried to pack the old one in the new packing box and it would not fit. Visibly, I could not see the diff but I did not measure anything, either. Call Keurig...They will deal.!! Date 8.27.2023 9:45am

Just a suggestion, you can go on Amazon and buy plastic spudgers. Make sure you get fairly rigid ones but they are excellent for this kind of use and are easier on the plastic than a metal screwdriver. Good video👍.

I'm having trouble with leaking. It's not the water holder. I'm so bummed in less than a year one of the more expensive Keurigs is leaking like my cheaper one did. ; ( It does say "add water" when there seems to be enough but other times it's ok. I wrote the company but not sure if it will help. I can't see myself taking it apart but I thank you for all your hard work.

Great to see the insides. I wanted to see if I could drain the inner tank by tricking the water sensor. Most other Keurigs use a magnet float to determine the water level. This method is pretty smart, but I can't trick it with a magnet, oh well. Still good to know what is inside these things.

Just A Dad! You totally showed me how to fix my nonfunctioning add water light: push down on the backflow valve under the tank and blow through the vent hole. It purged all the water out of the sensing line! Thank you!

@@MsSaralyn Fill the reservoir and put it back on. I don't remember if my light turned on right away, but it did the next time it got low And a bunch of water coming out is normal.

My light doesn’t come on until it runs completely out of water, then I have to fill it back up roughly to the position of that sensor. So it seems like the sensor works on the refill but not when the water level is going down. Is this the same problem others are having and do you think cleaning that tube will fix it?

I have a K-Elite that stopped pumping a full cup of coffee. The large (12 oz) only pumps about 7 ounces of water. Each size is nearly half the size that it is supposed to be. The "strong" and "cold brew" doesn't even pump water at all. I did notice that I just don't hear the pump taking water from the reservoir like I used to (either when I turn it on or after I brew a large cup). So, it only hums ever-so-slightly when it needs water (and I can hardly tell that the water is lowering in the reservoir). So, my assumption is that it doesn't draw water strongly enough from the outside reservoir into the heating reservoir. What do you think that the problem might be? I've descaled, used paper clips on the needles and even pumped water into the intake hole that connects to the reservoir. Nothing has worked. My last guess is to take it apart before I toss it. I hate that this machine only lasted about two years. I guess that this is the new normal for Keurig now. If this doesn't work, I'll (begrudgingly) head to Costco for a K-Supreme Plus machine.

make sure its not in high altitude mode, do you see like a mountain icon on you display that mean its on. the air pump line could be clogged. maybe also clean the needles not sure after that.

After watching this, I tried one more option! My add water was on but I had it filled from the sink. So unplugged the keurig and poured the water out. Then I put the tank back in the keurig empty. I then turned it on and took a pitcher of water and poured it into the filter and tadaaa 🎉 that turned it off 😂 So basically don’t take out the tank and fill it up separately?

I have this same machine as well and my light is on and wont go off! I lost the doo dad lil black peice on the side after taking apart and putting back together. I am SUPER FRUSTRATED I cant get it to run water and turn the add water light off! I am going to try this in the morning as well as the hold button under resovoiur and can air in hole on side top at same time trick and see if that will do anything for me. So basically I need to put on empty and try pouring water in on spout with the filter connected on the resouvoir?

If you line up the hooks around the side panels, you can pop the side panel downward and it will lock in. Look at the hooks and see the direction they pop inline. THen install the screws. If you removed the top hinge part, be careful. THere is a ribbon cable that cn be torn off controlling the electronics of the selection board.

I opened up my keurig and found that the mini pump squirts water every time I brew, causing hot water to look at the bottom. Any ideas as to what I should do?

I’m having a problem with this one where the water is not pumping out. It makes all the noise like it’s about to make hot water but nothing is coming out and at the end it makes the noise of pushing the water out and not is coming out. I did the paper clip cleaning and it still is not working.

You really need to get a set of plastic auto interior panel removal tools for disassembling things like this. It'll be a whole lot easier on the plastic panels.

Great video. Mine works normally except that when I put a pod in and close the lever, the blue lights dont flash to make any selections. If I press the hot water button, then the lights flash and I can select the size cup I want. Any thoughts or suggestions?

No issue with add water. Descale light came on, solid red, not blinking. Machine wouldn’t descale, heated up, draws minimal liquid then turns off when a cup size is pressed. Eventually machine would turn off on its own without attempting to brew. We clean monthly with vinegar solution and filtered water, charcoal filter replaced in reservoir. No idea what happened. Took it down enough to see the tubing is clear and unclogged. Only 4 year old machine. Thermostat issue? Had to order a new one.

Mine did something similar a few weeks ago where there was enough water in the reservoir and the add water light still came on and after I added more water, it started working fine again and it has stopped doing it since, so I hope it doesn't do it again.

I just did the same process but instead of using compress air I used my portable tire / sports inflator. It pushed out the water from the hotwater storage tank which was still hot. I them pushed down on the back-flow valve and no water came out as it did before I used the Air Compressor. I didn't want to use my compress air because of the warnings on the can... Before using compressed air in the tubing, you should really disconnect the tube leading to FPN-07PG pressure sensor on the PCB, otherwise you risk damaging it and the Keurig will be unable to sense the pressure buildup inside the chamber while dispensing and get no water dispensed.

Just got the Keurig Elite and it wants more water added when it's half empty and now I see why. They put the damn sensor WAY too high. My old Keurig used a float at the bottom of the reservoir and I can already tell I'm going to miss it.

Indeed, the only thing that sometimes bothers me from this machine is that light blue staying on even though the reservoir has enough water. It is an intermitent problem, though.

I had the same problem. After watching this video, I decided to drain the water sensor tube. I removed the water tank and pressed the the part inside the socket where the water tank plugs in, releasing the water in the air vent. Fixed the problem.! I think my keurig had an air bubble in the water sensor line in front of the water sensor.

Don't over filter your water. I filled my "Zero Water" filter pitcher, which I use to fill the reservoir, from my under-sink water filter tap, effectively double filtering the water to where it no longer was conductive, thus, "Add Water" illuminated even though the tank was full. Eliminating one of the filter cycles corrected the issue.
