Dell is worst on providing genuine replacement batteries for their laptop.... even the authorized service centers are worst.

Not only that, they design the BIOS to not recognize non OEM replacement batteries which affects charging that replacement battery to 100%

Idk what i did but my lap top was stuck at 0% for theblast 2 weeks and i could only use it plugged. It fell off the charger and my laptop wound turn back on at all for like and hour. When i finally turned it on i seen it jump from 0 to 100

Why did they put the battery inside? Old models were outside where you could take them out easily. This is very troublesome for the users.

My Dell Inspiron was working fine and used to give me 3 hours battery backup approximately but out of blue orange colour light started blinking by saying "battery has reached end of it's Life" and tried all methods to fix couldn't work... Now laptop won't charge and start on battery only runs on AC adapter power.....

My battery is jumping from ~30% to 7% and in Power Manager it shows Battery health as "Exelent", but I know its not. I am using Dell Latitude 5480. How do I tell battery pack to re-assess (recalibrate) how much of real capacity is still left in my battery?

They put a Time Bomb/Self-Destruct Timer on your Batteries! ! I removed the Battery and decided to just use the AC Adapter since Day 1. I plugged it back every after 3-4 months or if there's a Power outage, Use it a little and recharge it back to full. It still performs like brand new after 5 years and have just used it around 20 times. Damn then it suddenly fails to hold a charge.

If you run the update (the ".exe" file) via Command Prompt, and add the "/forceit" afterwards, you should be able to run it. Just make sure that your laptop is plugged in, while the update is running.

First, AC adapter wattage cannot be detected. Second, Battery not charging. Third, AC adapter works, battery not detected. Forth. AC adapter not compatible or something. Unplug the charger, the laptop stays on for some fucking reason. This is the last time I am buying a Dell laptop.

Found out what was wrong with mine, somehow the charging port was loose so I had to pull it to the opening and tighten the screw

I replaced my dell alienware battery. Now, it shows "Charging" and time to full charge. But actually the charged % is going down. Same in shut down state also.

i have dell laptop if I it has near 40% battery and I will shutdown and used it next day it wont turn on I have to reset the battery for this this is the worst problem with dell laptop battery has to charged more than 40% before shuting down

Dell is using common commercial practices, forcing users to buy new batteries, and, when you tried this with no avail - then you are pushed into buying a new laptop.. On Inspiron 15 appeared message: “Battery Fatal failure. Change battery” and showing 0% charge. Battery was removed from its original casing using knife (hard work, not for everyone), and checked with multimeter: there is 15,3V for the whole battery, and 3,8V for each cell (there are 4 Samsung cells, good ones, which can endure for 10 years and more) - battery is fine! But DELL insists that battery is completely gone, and by this prevents to upgrade BIOS in attempt to try to change battery status: “Battery must be charged at least 10% to upgrade BIOS”. But it IS fully charged! Battery’s rating is 14.8V, and we have 15.3V - more than completely full, so DELL is lying. Akh, so it is that lie is the best way to get money. But money is not “progress”.

Did you press "Fn" and F2 at the same time? If your laptop is like mine, pressing F2 on it's own would just be altering the volume

Mine didn't work the first 2 times I restarted and spammed F2. But the third time I hit F2 repeatedly for sixty seconds starting right when I clicked restart and it finally pulled up BIOS.

Dont buy a Dell they are nothing but trouble designed to fail when the one year warrenty runs out. First to go will be the Adapter, A little signal wire in it, very thin will break and your laptop will no longer charge, you will have to buy another adapter. Designed to fail. Now my battery is so low ( took time to get a new adapter) that even with the new adapter it wont charge. so new battery required. The laptop is now on but the new battery wont charge and it says i need to plug in my adapter, it is plugged in. Dell absoloute rubbish. OH ! and try and get help from them. ha ha ha......... I wish I could laugh.

I think Dell designed the laptop purposely to have fault especially Inspiron. Because I have seen so many people with the same fault but Dell never game them a good solution
