Really good video, but I think you’d have to find the extra 20 mil to upgrade Hjulmand/Ederson to Bruno Guimaraes. Would be such a massive improvement and could legit start next to Rodri week in week out. Hjulmand is on the bench every week when Rodri comes back.

Could be mistaken but did they mention Kalvin Phillips? Was curious to hear if they think he can be sold or if City will just more or less come to some mutual agreement to either terminate his contract or give him some form of financial compensation so that they can sell to whoever wants him for a very low fee. I think his contract ends in 2028 so it's a long time to just have him on the books. I'd love to know the thinking behind giving him a 6 year contract? It seems quite long for a player of his age at the time he joined and very limited top flight experience in terms of club football. He had only played 49 premier league games when joined City at around 26 years or so.

As a city fan this is personally what I’d want them to do the players to sell or let contracts run out would be stones walker Bernardo gundo mcatee Ortega ( great player but he’d actually be able to bring in some money) which will free up probably about 125-140 mil via wages and transfer fees bring kdb back on whatever deal he’s asking for money isn’t that big of an issue and if the plan is to keep foden as a midfielder sign frimpong delap Bruno g scalvini and bring in some random young backup keeper that’s around like 190-200 mil in transfer fees so we’ll say maybe like 245ish mil including all other fees which leaves you with like in goal ederson plus a back up rb Lewis frimpong akanji all as options also all offer a different set of skills depending on what you want them to do cb options dias akanji ake scalvini gvardiol if needed and Pusey if needed lb options would be gvardiol ake and scalvini/ lewis as needed with your dm options being rodri bruno g kovacic with lewis and akanji if needed then ahead of them you have between kdb foden grealish(who i loved in the midfield against forest) bobb kovacic and lewis even could move up rodri there if you wanted when playing with bruno g on the rw you have the options of savio foden bobb doku frimpong on the lw you have doku grealish savio bobb and at st you have haaland delap and if you wanted to play a false 9 you have options of like foden or bobb which is something that pep has messed with a little bit but this is assuming we’d set up in our normal like 433 kind of attacking in like a 3241 my ideal starting line up would be something like ederson akanji dias scalvini gvardiol as my back 4 with gvardiol really playing as basically a winger how he normally has been and the rest forming a back 3 or frimpong akanji dias gvardiol with frimpong going forward also another option would be lewis akanji dias gvardiol if you wanted lewis to step into the midfield and keeping another attacker on then a midfield partnership between rodri and bruno g with foden and if fit kdb if not grealish or possibly bobb or kovacic then on the wings Doku and savio but honestly I wouldn’t be mad at any combination of the wingers with obvious haaland up top with delap as the rotation option as needed

Dang that is a big write up. As City fan, I agree with most you said - gotta extend De Bruyne for 2 more yrs, dont extend Walker and Gundo. Sell Mcatee 25M, Ederson 20M (who has been imo dogshit this season), Stones 20M, (and erase big wages for latter 2), Bernardo sell only if 50M offer comes, if not, keep (you cant replace the versatility that he offers in like 5 positions + you need elite presser out of possession to cover for De Bruyne), and for same reasons actually keep Nunes (hes played well this season as well). Keep all other players. For incomings, I think we need 4 signings - CDM (Rodri cover) and versatile forward (Haaland cover) now in winter, and then RB/RCB (Walker replacement) + elite GK (Ederson repl.) in summer. Ideal Walker replacement/upgrade + Rodri cover for me is Kimmich (contract ends this summer), he can invert from RB just like Rico in possession (+is a better defender) or alongside Rodri in double pivot, hes world class in both positions. Only problem is he is gonna be 30, so thats a 3 year contract max. Scalvini I agree with as a great long-term option. He is very similar player to Gvardiol, but on right side. Atalanta will probably ask 80M+ though. I also like Palacios from Bayer/Ederson from Atalanta for CDM cover, imo a great fit+ under 50M. Or Bernabe from Parma (came from City academy) for less+younger. Shame we missed out on Joao Neves, best young CDM, PSG aint gonna sell him. For versatile FW I like Cunha, who we could get for under 50M if Wolves get relegated, or just pay whatever. He can cover for Haaland/sub on as second striker/CAM when necesarry. Joao Pedro/Lookman are also great options, if available for under 60M + ok with not starting most games). I personally dont like neither David (imo not good enough on ball for Pep), nor Rodrygo (too expensive/not a striker really). Replace Ederson with elite GK, keep Ortega as backup. I dont see any point in signing anyone in attacking mid/winger areas. We already have Echeverri coming in winter as De Bruyne's understudy + enough wing depth (Doku/Grealish on left + Savio/Bobb on right + Silva/Foden/Nunes cover if necesarry). Only sign Wirtz/Musiala if de Bruyne leaves, otherwise there just won't be space for them to start regularly, Foden's best position is always in the middle/half spaces for me. Or go big for Kvaratschkelia if we sell Grealish.
