How to fix Mini R56/BMW ELV counter/steering lock light!

Showing you how to fix your ELV counter/steering lock fault.
This is a common issue on MINIs and BMWs of a early age!
Very easy and cheap fix- ELV emulator off eBay
FYI some times after installing the emulator you need the light clearing by having the ELV counter reset on a good diagnostic tool!

I didn’t get the light. However, when I scanned the car using my MaxiSys PRO. I received a few codes. - 00A0AA Car Access System (CAS), control unit fault present. - 00A0B5 Car Access System (CAS), fault, road speed signal. For the first code (00A0AA), can this emulator fix that issue as the car isn’t starting. And how do I fix the second fault code?

Hi no not that i know of, maybe use a small flat blade for leverage

We did this and it was fine for a few years and now it came back on and car won't start now at all.

@@jacobbaggott1 sadly we had to take it to the mechanic. I can trust him. We think it might be as well. What a bummer. Hope it’s not $$$$ crazy money

@@jacobbaggott1 yes that is true but most likely put a new one in so we don’t have to worry about it. Mine is a 07. 125,000 miles. Mine was the only year they put that stupid thing in. Ugh
