I’m pretty sure that’s a compression release mechanism. These 4-strokes have so much compression they would break your ankle and very often the kick starter shaft without compression release. I just bought a 1989 Yamaha XT350 where the previous owner didn’t have the compression release cable hooked up and broker the kick starter shaft right off. First thing I did was buy a new compression release cable and kick start shaft. Works fine now

Bro you have no idea how much this helped my sprocket carrier sheared off and locked up my chain into my engine case destroyed the engine case but the clutch gave in and it was the gold plate that had moved i took off that nut unscrewed the adjuster screw put it back in all way until it meets the pressure pin stuck the nut back on and hey prest i have clutch and it is so good thank you bro

I cant believe ive taken apart my engine 10 times pulled all the gears out reset the kickstarter ratchet system and this has been the issue the whole time. Bout go try it out see if i can ride today

Mine does that with clutch lever pulled in i let it out it feels like compression, i put it into 1st gear and roll it with clutch in the back wheel locks still even with clutch in

I got my DB17 in late 2019 for $750 shipped, and it's been doing great! I wrecked it pretty badly, but surprisingly it didn't mess up or scratch the bike. The only thing that broke was the bolt that connects to the swing arm, which is cheap to replace. I also had to get a swing arm spacer, cause it lost that too. But honestly, it's been holding up great considering I'm a motocross rider who rides the hell out of bikes!

Don't do that! You never have to much compression! If you loosen the clutch bolt your clutch plates won't survive long
