This worked great! I used a 6” extra wide jaw wrench and an 8” universal toilet lever but with a non-bending (rounded) brass arm for extra durability. I picked up both part and tool at Canadian tire and it was super affordable! It was helpful to look at the shape and size of the broken arm to find a suitable replacement. Many thanks 🙏

I just saved myself a plumber's fee I wouldn't have been able to afford before January, thanks to this video. Thanks to YOU. SUBBED, and again, THANK YOU, for being so reassuring and plain-speaking, and making something that scared the ever-lovin' spam outta me (any sort of home-based repair that couldn't be solved by 'turning it off then turning it on again') look do-able enough for me to at least try. And my try succeeded--I did the repair in about fifteen minutes of fiddling, mild effort, and totally gratuitous swearing 😆I'm thinking I might try more small repairs, as needed and with your channel's help. Which means not far down the line, I'll definitely need a professional, thanks entirely to my own fumble-fingered flailing. In all seriousness, you literally showed me how to solve my entire problem with an early run to the hardware store and $20.98 USD ... instead of whatever the plumber would have charged two months from now. Thank you! I liked how you compared the shape of the old one to the new one to show how to match the bend. I bought a plastic lever and after two bends it started to show fatigue so I had to get a metal one that should last much longer. Those plastic ones are cheapo.

Thanks bro! This helped me figure out why my toilet handle was loose. My toilet handle bolt got loose and slid off all the way down the chain. Picking it back up and tightening it on the bowl side of the toilet handle did the trick!

I have this same toilet old ball system mine has green minerals on it also i have older toilet and was concerned if needed to replace the whole system bc of the old ball style doing handle n flapper soon i bought universal also bc mine stays open to long have to wiggle the handle for it to close flapper maybe worn out too idk ❤

I switched to the handles with the metal lever instead of the plastic lever because the plastic ones are junk you hold down on the handle slightly to hard and then they snap.

a universal lever is subjective, because some handles are built differently. i had a hell of a time putting on the clip to the handle. i also have a counter top over the toilet as well. if u make the chain to long, it takes the toilet longer to flush, and have to hold the lever. if u make the chain to short, the rubber flapper will not close properly thus having water slowly seep out of the flapper and running every 5-8 mins.....i hate plumbing! lol

I fixed mine ... I didn't realize the washer fell down to the plate ... it looked like a part of the construction 🥴 over time I guess it unscrewed.

oh I'm sorry! It seems on the universal toilet handles that you have to be careful to bend the metal arm and not strain the plastic handle. I assume it was the plastic part that broke?

Looks like your toilet fill valve is busted at the top or maybe I have never seen one like that. I think the water is only supposed to come out of the black tube running to the center.

It's driving me absolutely nuts that no one is showing what happens when everything with that white nut/seal does NOT come out! Ages ago I saw one on here that showed what happens when you have the handle come out but not that seal that's still stuck in the hole. Without removing that, I can't do this easy repair, and I can't get that sucker to move AT ALL!

Melt it with a lighter. I had to do the same. No danger because the melting plastic drips right down into the water. But use a long handled lighter so you dont burn yourself.
