09 Subaru wrx still have P0021 after solenoid replacement, oil change, new filter and banjo bolt filter removal. Could it possibly be intake camshaft sensor?

Hello, kindly check the timing chain as damaged timing chain is the most common cause for this code. Repair or replace if needed. Also, always ensure that the engine oil/viscosity is according to the manufacturer's standards and avoid driving on bumpy roads to keep the wiring intact.

Hello, we suggest removing the used oil before changing the filter. You may recycle and reuse the old oil added to the new oil to maintain the correct level but ensure to perform a complete oil change once you've reached 5,000 miles.

@@Damebaby3 the bmw has solenoids that get dirty. Clean the solenoids and replace the oil. Will fix the problem

Hi,,I have a 2003 nissan pathfinder 3.5l, and gave me a P0011 code bank 1,I changed the oil & filter,changed also variable valve timing,cam sensor,and, crank sensor but still have the same problem & reading code. Problem with the vehicle,once I started to drive 15 minutes later lose power,drive erratically. I also changed the throttle,still doing same thing. Do you think its the timing belt?,because I'm never behind oil change maintenance squedule,thank you.

Hi Manuel, yes- possibly. Also, kindly check all the wiring related (from solenoid to PCM, wiring harness to the intake camshaft position sensor).

Hi Jaffar, yes-it affects vehicles with VVT. As this code could cause lost power and tough to start motor, we suggest to treat this right away. You may start with changing the oil and replacing the Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid.

@@nondainc Thank you. But the vvt sensor was checked outside the vehicle and there is no defect in it. My question is when checking the vehicle with a fault detection device. The examiner tells me that the defect is not in it, but in the care of the vvt actuator .

I have a Cadillac CTS 2007 with only 77000km and just bought it. My oil change is due tommorow and the code pop out today ! Might it be my oil change ?

Possibly-yes. We suggest to check also the wiring from the solenoid to the ECM if damaged, and the wiring harness to the intake camshaft position sensor for poor connection as these could trigger this code.

Hello, please check the engine oil condition and level. Ensure that it is in correct viscosity, and isn't dirty/low. Check also the camshaft oil control valve if functioning well.
