The partical ring hapenned to me when I wasn't insulating enough my soap in the mold inmediately after making it. Thank you so much for making this video! It sure is super helpful! Greetings from Costa Rica :)

That's what I do! I can typically see a partial gel thru my white silicone molds. I leave it in loaf form and process in oven just like you. Nifty!

Omg this was so helpful! I’m pretty new to soaping and I have had this happen twice and I wasn’t sure what to do... the one time just leaving them to cure they mostly evened out but the first batch I ever made had a very noticeable ring that didn’t go away over time... I’m totally going to try this if it ever happens again!

It happened to me and before cutting the soaps I put the mold in the oven at 40° celsius and in 30 mn the whole block was gelled. If that helps. That day i had to force gel the rest of the soap, it was a special order and so i had to figure out a way... and it worked!

That was SO Awesome!! How did you come up with this method? I have never heard of a way to fix partial jell....Thank You SO much for sharing this! Sly
@Soapish7 жыл бұрын
SoapsblySly O I guess it just made sense to finish the heating process that the soap didn't do by themselves! I overheated a set of soaps once so I learned to take it slowly.
@Diya-Deeya Жыл бұрын
Marvelous patience dear. Would the soap be ready to use straight away now, or, requires time to settle?

@clarewhite30043 жыл бұрын
One of my soaps didn't gel at all last night in spite of CPOPing and being made exactly the same as the other loaf that gelled immediately. Do you think this would work to gel a bar all the way through? And would 275 degrees ruin ecoglitter?
@cherylvallie62333 жыл бұрын
Can you fix the gel phase before you cut your soap into bars
@havendallaire59888 ай бұрын
Wow i didn't know you could fix it! I fave o e question did you just heat the oven ones?
@chelseasomer7 жыл бұрын
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing.Do you think this would work for soaps that have a partial gel that have already started curing, or only for soaps that have just been cut?
@Soapish7 жыл бұрын
chelseasomer that I don't know. If you have some cured bars with a gel ring, it can't hurt to give it a try. I've only done this with freshly sliced bars and I assume because the water content is still pretty high this method is more successful that way. But you never know till you try :)
@sincerelynyce6 жыл бұрын
Omg ! So needed to watch this! Made a batch and it was partially gelled! Now where did you get the mat & should I only do this after the bars are fully cured or before/during the curing stage?
@tomissmitten3 жыл бұрын
yes, I also wanted to know if this was done AFTER curing or BEFORE the curing was finished..
@hessitanydedeus28273 жыл бұрын
Can you put your soap in the oven right after you remove it from the mold? Or should it be later? When putting the oven to 275 degrees, do you let it reach that temperature?
@kathrynluddeke90216 жыл бұрын
Are your embeds cp or mp?

Is there a way to totally prevent gel phase? Is the soap still usable if it doesn't go through gel phase?
@conniemardon29797 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking you have to do this asap..I did my soap a few weeks after and it didn't work..:(
@keelymunoz69607 жыл бұрын
Hi! Did you lose fragrance strength from heating them that way? I like really strong scented soaps and I'm so afraid heat diminishes the fragrance. I'm not sure if this is true.....or if it's just something I came up with on my own :)
@Soapish7 жыл бұрын
keely munoz It really just depends on the fragrance, but the short answer is yes. Heat does affect fragrance in some ways (in my experience) . It's always best not to get partial gel and that comes with trial and knowing your recipe, your fragrance, and even the temperature where you live.... so you don't have to use this technique haha.. I normally let all of my soaps gel completely and the fragrance of them stays strong. I use the maximum percentage recommended tho! As long as you test, and use quality fragrance oils, a bit of heat won't affect the scent of your bars. The only fragrances I've really had fade or morph are fruit and citrus scents, so test and be careful with those :) hope that helps!

I found this tutorial on Sunday, so on Monday, when my soap had a partial gel, I knew exactly what to do! I followed your instructions EXACTLY, but after 7 minutes, when I attempted to rotate them, they melted into goo in my hands. Any theories why it happened? I’m heartbroken- these were so pretty!
@dianeespinoza86474 жыл бұрын
Jennifer Jones You didn't turn the oven to 170* soap doesn't melt at 170* however it will melt to goo at 350*

I just tried this for 4 minutes with my freshly cut batch. It got so soft that it turned the bars into pyramids. And yes, my oven was OFF. 4 minutes. Was your oven all the way to 275 before you turned it off?
@Soapish6 жыл бұрын
Emily Latham yes. I’m sorry this method didn’t work for you! It is definitely not an exact science. I’m sure there are many factors in the success of this including the soap recipe and the water content in the bars at the time. So many people have written to tell me they’ve been using this method for years or that it’s worked for them. I can only show people what has worked for me.
