Awesome tip. Lol I have zero common sense and that is genius to just separate the lye and add it to each layer. Thanks for the tips :)

I have been watching it dozen times today, thanks for sharing this....I failed several times when I pour the soap at this very light trace, it cracked and covered with soda ashes everywhere, I think I can only watch you did it....:-)

Hi, Tania, I've tried many ways to make layer soap more even and had seen the short tutorial on your Instagram and still can't get how you made it. This one is super great and helpful. I'll have to try it. Thank you so much.

I really want to try this! So nice! I am wondering in the second method, where you add the whole lye water, how do you keep the batches fluid while you wait for the layers to set. Thank you for this tutorial, so helpful!

Wow, I didn't know it was OK to add lye after mixing oils and fragrances! Thank you for sharing the tip! I'm amazed you got beautiful colors in your soaps, and pardon for sounding like a newbie that I am, but did you gel them?

Thank you for sharing! I've often wondered if I could add fragrance or additives before adding the lye water. Since I'm new at soaping, I usually stick to what I've been taught, but maybe I need to adopt a "try it and see" attitude and be a little more adventurous!
@Soapish8 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, fragrance can be added at any point, just be mindful of discoloring fragrances.. Once you add them to the oils, you'll be stuck with whichever color they close to turn :) I've taken the "lets see what happens" approach a lot during my Soapmaking. And many times, great things have happened!

I loooved your soaps!! Great technique. I did try to to this with two stripes, but when I was using the soap later on, the soap broke exactly at the color line. Does that happend to you? Do you know what could have been?

As a beginner I'd definitely have thought that it wasn't close enough to trace to be sure of setting-up ever. What should I be looking for?

That is actually a piece of a "zig zag"ruler that I cut to the width of my soap mold. I think I found it in the cake decorating section of Michaels.
