Is this technique safe to do on an actual vehicle??

Yes I've been using these techniques on vehicles for years. Mostly using mineral spirits over the years and just recently switched over to Naphtha as my main reducer. I only suggest that you wipe off something in a inconspicuous spot first just to make sure there's no reaction to the vehicles paint. I've had no issues in my 9 years Pinstriper

Probably better to have a couple of favorites if possible. I normally use 1 brush for everything and I regret not using more variety

Can you fix mistakes like shown in the video on a car or motorcycle finish without having to worry about affecting the surface?

Scale Model Tech Yes assuming that the surface has a well cured clear coat (like a normal paint job) In other words, shouldn't be a issue. I've never had an issue, especially if it's a factory paint job. Only time I'd be concerned is FRESH paint.. or flat paint

I did work on a custom trike with a flat black paint job and I was able to erase without any issues. The paint was fully cured. I'm not sure what 2k is because I am not a painter by trade, i've only dabbled with Pinstriping. I may even recommend you pre draw a design to limit the amount of erasing... or have a very clear idea of what you wanna do. I will say tho, be careful using a pencil for grid lines, sometimes they wont come off due to the coarse nature of flat paint. Use tape to mark off some focal points or a wet-erase marker if an actual grid is needed. I've only been doing this for 4 years so please take this advise with caution, I am not a full time professional. Good luck!
