my volume button was jammed... after i un-jammed it (with brute force, clicking hard back and forth) i tried rebooting and it worked! if that doesn't work and a button is jammed the case may have to be removed and buttons cleaned ! i actually saw a comment and tried the suggestion so am leaving my own comment in case it helps someone else

Give this a shot if nothing helps: It happened to me as well, nothing worked, I took it to a local repair shop they told me it's a common problem with xiaomi phones, one of the buttons is jammed on the side even if it doesen't seem like it.. they took the back cover off, cleaned the button and everything works fine now

Maybe this will help someone, i had the same issue. loop into the main menu. i could select different option but the power button didn't do anything. So i tried to press the power button for like a 5 minutes straight and somehow it worked. so try this if nothing else worked.

@@Sukiiii-fY Actually my phone is okay now, I managed to escape safe mode. The problem was with volume, there was a bug and volume was always set to maximum on it's own. I turned off volume settings in some apps and downloaded volume lock app and now it's fine, luckily.

How the hell do you think the phone can update when it doesn't even turn on?! This ordeal is caused by some circuit (probably connected to storage) shorting. Hence the phone cannot access its OS or other data and just reboots on a loop without ever turning on. Your phone is now a brick! :@
