We've used the factory side rail mount and just added a couple vent holes in the side of the body for inlet. That keeps it away from the drive line and gunk that can get thrown in the fan blades. Moving the fan to the end of the motor bell also shifts the magnetic area. Have had no problem with magnetic pulsing in our three cars racing stock 17.5 with Maclan V2 motors.

It was around 90F in Georgia a few days ago when I got out to drive my rusty. Came back inside 2 minutes later after the motor over heated. I can’t imagine how hot it would feel there. Stay cool!

Loved the video from the buggy. You do want the heaver oil in the front shocks bc lighter oil lets the front tires bounce and the heaver oil stops that so you will have better control of your steering. And the lighter oil in the rear helps with traction by letting the rear squat faster.

That's it - that FPV makes me want to drive down the straight all the way to the wall even more! But the layout in the aerial shot at 6:43 DID have the straight going all the way to the wall. Someone is conspiring to suck the fun out of the funnest part of the track... 🤔 Haha! I love this series, Brett. Who knew that the motor would be the culprit of what many might just write-off as a bad fan? I'm just returning to the hobby after a good long while - my motors had brushes the last time I ran , so that little fan issue certainly would have thrown me for a loop.
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
Ha. No conspiracies here! That aerial shot is older but still a great shot of the facility. We had issues keeping the GoPro upright on the buggy and not tilting down after landing jumps. There were a few shots of the wall ride but the view was down and not great. For the fan, you are very right. Many people have complained their fan was bad when it was just too close to the motor. Then they buy a new fan but the issue repeats. Have fun with the hobby. Brushless, LiPo's and 2.4GHz has improved it so much. And those brushed motors are still around! Let me know if you need anything. -Brett

I'm not having that issue at all oddly enough so far. I now realize I need a temp gun, but Amain doesn't contain a solid one. The protek one looks iffy especially considering the negative reviews. Oh well Home Depot has a better affordable one. 35 bucks and comes with holster bat and charger drop proof I'm set.

You'd better tune your motor to run less hot. Especially when you run in a 40c environment. A fan is a good solution for extra performance, but not to initially bring the temps down.

@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
I don't think the factory heatsink included with your truck has a fan mount, so I'd replace that with a proper fan mount and then go with the ProTek fan. There are tons of mounts available, that will hold one or two fans. If you go with a two fan mount, you'll probably need a Y-Splitter because your receiver probably doesn't have two extra ports available, but most likely has one to plug the fan in. Any 540/550 motor size mount will work (36mm diameter). Here is what we have: www.amainhobbies.com/fans-heatsinks-electric-motor-parts-electronics-cars-trucks/c2973 Here is the ProTek Fan: www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-30x30x10mm-aluminum-high-speed-hv-cooling-fan-silver-black-ptk-2111/p995313 -Brett

How are you keeping your GoPro on the car? My mounts seem to come off on landings
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
When you buy a GoPro, inside the box it's mounted on a base plate that is big and square. We drilled holes in that and the wing, and mounted it with M3 screws, washers and locknuts. The camera kept tilting down after landing hard though, so it's not 100% great solution, but we were able to get a few good laps with it. -Brett

Im looking to buy a 2wd drive buggy I just sold my 2018 xb2 because I didn't feel like it fit my driving style anymore and I have been watching these videos trying to decide if I want the b6.2, though the only thing shying me away is that I wasn't really impressed with my B6 is this B6.2 a lot different or should I expect the same the same car with some minor changes here or there. Thanks!

The new cars have a lot of updates to them. I didn't use the original B6 so I can't speak too much towards it, but the new cars are quite good. Just be sure to choose the correct car (B6.2 or B6.2D) to match your usage to save a lot of hassle down the road. -Brett

🛑Amain can you help nobody can answer Can you put a Fan on the ESC of a ARRMA voltage?
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
It looks like the ESC in the Voltage vehicles do not have an integrated fan mount. You could fabricate some sort of mount to house a fan, maybe something out of plastic or lexan, and perhaps screw it down to the existing screws that secure the ESC? However you do it, you'll need to create something custom. You would also need to ensure your receiver has one extra port to plug the fan in for power. Hope this helped. -Brett
