This fan should be installed at least 5mm away from the motor to allow sufficient air flow and prevent magnet interference.
@Kanooky_Jones4 жыл бұрын
Agree with the spacing on motor, could have also been a connection issue as well. Plus, depending on whether your buggy is set up for 6.0v or 7.4v, there may be some additional cooling flexibility from the fan if you can run at 7.4v (and not already). My cut-offs would have kicked long before that motor ever got that warm. I’m not even comfortable at 165, I always keep at 140 or lower, but that’s real tough when it’s 108 ambient... good video though.

Good practical demonstration. Would have been interested to hear lap time difference with brass bulkhead. Good job in those conditions!
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
The lap timer is usually on and announcing at the track, not sure why it wasn't that day. But that would be interesting to know. I can notice the bulkhead, along with a 1mm lower front ride height than the rear, really allows the car to rotate much faster around the tight 180 turns. Better front tires would further help, or maybe eliminate the need for the brass. Kind of a bummer to add 30 grams to a stock buggy that we want lightweight, but the performance gain feels worth it with the current setup. -Brett

At 5:28, I'm guessing you didn't trust the "30g" engraved on the bulkhead? 😂 Anyway, I hope the issue with the fan is a simple one - I need to get one for my buggy, and a lot of people seem to be saying that the Protek is the one to get. And MAAAAN, I hope you guys move that hairpin on the straight all the way to the end! I would still wanna ride the wall coming off that long straight, even though it's like another 10 feet past the hairpin, lol!

The 2wd buggy i have has an issue where the slipper cluch wont stop spining with the nut all the way down. How can i fix this?
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
Maybe the slipper pads are worn out or not fulling seated between the slipper plates and spur gear. If there is any gap in there, slippage will happen. If any grease got on the slipper pads, that could cause slippage. Maybe it isn't assembled correctly; i've done this and forgot some spacers and it slipped. Maybe disassemble it and reassemble with the manual as a reference. Hope this helps. -Brett
@AMain_Hobbies4 жыл бұрын
@@chungass448 Hmm, not sure. I would try replacing the pads. If you only had one pad doing all the slipping, it has probably excessively worn down. If you're driving 17.5, have you considered a slipper eliminator? -Brett
