Just started 12-27-2023. Getting Samsung internet pop up ads on my screen that cover the screen and I can't get rid of it without working it around for a Remove X feature to appear at the bottom. Its difficult to get the Remove to appear.

I uninstalled a walking monitor program and so far no issues. Go to your settings/apps/last installed app by date and see if the latest app you installed is causing it.

Looks like this is a big problem. Just started happening to me too. I have done everything on the tutorials. The options are shaded and unable to use. I disable and the program changes it back on even though I keep taking of the permissions to do so. I just now figured it wouldn't hurt to remove and go back to factory settings.

Thsi has NOTHINGdo do with Samsung this has to do with end user lack of knowledge of how the internet works or browsers in general. IF a guide like this has to tell youth over 12 or older about pop-ups in a browser in 2023 (or anything from 2015+)then I'm osrry you've lost in life. lol.

The problem is the app literally opening up on its very own, and randomly opening up to random websites despite taking any legal (aka without rooting) measure to be able to stop it from happening. While it is annoying, that shows you know nothing about your phone or care about it's features. I got the s23 ultra for it's huge storage, cameras and screen. No iphone on the market compared to it. So I'm not switching just because of that.

I even chose 'discontinue use' and STILL HAPPENING...whyyyyy tf did they do this annoying a$$ sh!t?!?!?!?! Now I'm annoyed asf with my S23 that I was initially loving. Count your days Samsung 😭

Ok so, after I did the 'discontinue use' option, I restarted the phone and it's 3 hrs later with no pop-ups (not yet anyway) hopefully it stays like this.

I turned off notifications. For some reason the notifications get turned back on by itself

@@tarasteed6939 I turned off everthing I could and still no resolve. Then it updated last night, I was hoping that would do it, nope...soon as I unlocked my phone after it turned back on from the update, I had one smh.

@@tarasteed6939 Exactly. It does the same on my end, even turn on location for it. No matter what I do, it turns back on. Doesn't go to any random site... just silently runs like the piece of junk that it is.

My problem is sometimes when I turn on my phone an internet page opens by itself with 2 tabs my homepage and a different tab containing an ad i don't know how to fix that

The problem with me is, samsung internet automatically opens up the "last page" that I saw last time, when I open the app after few hours, even though I always back up to the quick access page (which is the very first page of browser) before closing the app.

My problem im having is whenever i turn on my phone the samsung internet app is just opened and asks if i want to make it my browser or whatever, this is the same problem everyone is having in the comments right? Cuz if so im happy im not the only one because i keep thinking i have a virus but i have an anti virus scanner app (whatever theyre called) and i run the virus scan apl the time and it doesnt detect amy threats

If this doesn't work for you you're not alone, the update to Samsung Internet (which used to be content to run quietly and politely) has turned the apk into absolute bloatware. Force - uninstalling it disables push notifications regardless of what browser you use, it can't be stopped, if you attempt to discontinue use it will re-enable itself, the pop-up blocker setting has no effect: Samsung has finally placed the last straw that is making us walk away from their phones forever. Go to hell Samsung.

I just went to settings To apps Found Samsung internet long pressed it Gave some different options Turned off permissions as well turned off draw over other apps Hope it works

Let's all come together and sue Samsung! This is seriously becoming a major day-to-day issue. Everytime I open my phone this bs pops up. Im very stressed and have had sleepless nights, my money is down the drain. Wtf Samsung?! Really considering switching to Apple now.
