Just put this kit on my 2016 Sierra with Rough Country upper arms, KYB struts assy and a MotoFab 3" upper lift/spacer. REMEMBER TO MARK WHERE THE ALIGNMENT PIN IS... PRIOR to taking everything apart. The pins and bolts are a PITA to get lined up but they will eventually, be patient. I didn't even have to align my truck afterwards.

Purchased the kit. I replaced broken pins with OEM ones. The design changed on the pins to prevent failure. You either increase hole diameters by drilling or return them, since they won't lay flat like the OEM ones. Seemed like a good solution.

Also when driving an uneven or rough surface the truck vibrates (is annoying) the shock takes the impact but after that come with a vibration, I can feel it front and rear tires to the Point that moves the whole truck . This seems like a nice solution to overly frequent alignments for future reference. However, currently I have one pin missing, and I wasn’t able to do an alignment today. If I replace the pins, can it be done without removing the upper control arm and tire? It seems like the pin would just snap back in, assuming I have the proper leverage to do so.

@@nelsonmartinez8135 It wont really matter, you can tru to straighten it with a hammer, but careful not to push it off. you should be fine, just remember to align the truck with some negative camber and a lot of positive caster so the steering is better. I run mine with -2.5 negative camber and +5 positive caster so it corners better.

@@BadAssEngineering Awesome! Is this something I should be able to tell the shop when I take it to get an alignment as far as numbers you use? I usually take it to my local Firestone but Im thinking maybe I should go to an off road shop and get their help. If I was still living in Oceanside, Ca I'd drive down to Mexico and have you do it!!!! lol!

@BadAssEngineering
@BadAssEngineering 4 жыл бұрын
This kit is just to ensure that the alignment stays in place, because it tends to get knocked off position. If you take your truck to an alignment shop and they can't get it to align to spec, the problem is the drop kit, which would have a wrong geometry. Tire/Wheel size is not important.

Osvaldo Cereceres you can also get some plate cams like these but with 2 degrees more of adjustment... belltech sells them... if you need more adjustment, moog suspension parts sell an upper control arm that has offset bushings already pressed in with another 2 degrees extra for adjustment... they’re way cheaper than djm and are already pressed in for direct swap... part # rk80669 I believe

Actually, it Is repairable by just popping it back in and hitting the tip of the edge with a punch. The pins have a ledge on them to hold them in place.. Or you can just weld them in like I did and be done with the hassle. If you wanted to make it easy on yourself, you should have removed the strut..

Be sure to align the truck perferctly with the old keys and mark where they sit, so you install the new ones in the same position, That way you wont lose the alignment. Also be careful with the fricking pins (the ones that fall in the video) I personally like my truck -2 deg camber, +5 deg caster and a bit of open toe

These are only for off road purpose!!!! you so will not get the desired numbers for alignment.... the bolts aren't slotted like standard. So when you need to change your caster and Camber need to Jack the truck up take pressure off of the upper control arm loosen the bolt completely and then move the shim where you need it it's a pain in the ass but this is for off-road purposes only
@BadAssEngineering

Once you align with a set of good UCAs, if you change them it doesn't affect the alignment. Unless you crash and bend the mounting points for the suspension, you don't ever need to reAdjust the cams.
