This is maybe the 3rd or 4th time I have seem a similar problem with this circuit so I thought it would be a good idea to show it here and how to resolve it.

Awesome debugging skills. Can you please let me know how is the modulation done. What kind of device is used as modulator, a normal opamp with high GBP 15Mhz or some transconductance type opamp? Is it not the self oscillating circuit as even without the Fets being switched, you see drive signals? I'm mostly interested to know the devices close to the red preset inbetween the huge copper jumper and bulk capacitors

I know this is an old video but I decided to try to contact you here through this one out of just not knowing where else to turn I do have a Taramps Big Boss 3 with this problem but that's not necessarily my concern considering how cheap they are to purchase but I have stumbled across some strange acoustic properties in building a box for the subwoofers that this amplifier is powering it's a ported enclosure for 2:15-in subwoofers but when you run a sweep it plays flat from a low pass all the way to subsonic with no EQ rather unusual but when I go back and review the building choices I made are lending itself to this flat response this box plays very loud but because the response is flat the harmonics with the cabin gain are so uniform it's unreal... The box is tuned to 32 Hertz and like I said if you run a sweep from 25 to 70 hz it'll be flat all the way to your subsonic I tried to invert the subs in the same enclosure with results that were ridiculous the tuning changed so dramatically it peaked at 29 hz rolled off sharp above but extended way down into the teens... This is an exceptionally unique box and I know you like acoustics.
@barevids3 ай бұрын
@@davidvarner8793 I'm starting to understand this, and it's quite hard to read without punctuation. Sounds like you have something weird going on there though. Perhaps the subs weren't sealed against the wood and when you flip them you made the seal. I don't know, doesn't sound right.
@davidvarner87933 ай бұрын
@@barevids The design of the box is rather unique it's on a solid platform every wall is single walled except for the baffle the interior port wall The enclosure is 24 and 1/4 in tall up firing up ports independent chamber independent ports when you drop the subwoofer in this box you get great extension because of the distance from the loading wall but when you invert it it's like hollering down a railway tunnel... The box sounds amazing and the design features lend to a very high SPL it directs pressure to and through the port...
@davidvarner87933 ай бұрын
Okay after a little bit more time and testing because this box has independent chambers, I inverted one subwoofer and regular mounted the other. I achieved the results that I would have got with each orientation coming from a single box. Which was a bandwidth that is the sum of the two orientations. It goes from the low pass filter to subsonic with an extremely shallow slope to the upper teens. It is about acoustics and pressure distribution. It is actually quite technical but I know you can understand.

I have a smart3k and something touched my output terminals well one of them for sure. And now it is making a light rumbling sound when the power comes on. It works ok but it sounds like a ground issue but I know it’s not that because I hooked up another amp to see if it was gana make the same rumbling sound and it was just fine. I think something happened to the output because at first it was making a loud popping sound in all of my 4 subs like really loud. And when I turn it up with a lot of bass it starts acting weird and pops my subs and the amp goes into protect and resets itself but it does come back on. Do you, or anyone else know if its possible to change the type of low and high pass crossovers? I have a Taramps smart 3, brand new. I waited a while before I installed it and as soon as I tried it I noticed I had a high pitch squeal coming from one of the fans as soon as the amp starts. It'll stop after a few min but nevertheless it's there.... and hella annoying 🙄! I can't return it because I exceeded the return period because I had to wait to install due to all the COVID19 BS. Then after tuning it I noticed that this amp does not like low bass notes... it is very annoying. It would be great if it weren't for that, ohh and worst of all some voice creeps through the filters somehow and that makes me want to smash it with a sledge hammer and stomp it like I was doing a Riverdance/B-walk/C-walk! Anyone that could help? Besides the obvious 🙄 of buying a different amp. I have other amps but one is 900wrms and other is supposedly 1kw. I am pushing 2 subs that can take up to 2kw each.

@@barevids Really?? Not even to just check and see if something was blown internally?
@barevids5 жыл бұрын
@@Mocredible you can use a multimeter to find dead fets and shorted drive transistors, open gate resistors etc. Amp Repair cannot be carried out without a multimeter. However without a scope you are risking the chance that you missed something and your new fets will blow the second you install them. Without a scope you also can't confirm integrity of the class D circuit once all new parts are fitted. It's possible to get an amp working again with MM only, but only if you are lucky, or already have years of experience with a scope to know what to look for without it.

They look diffrent than most because they are fullbridged technology. Most Korean an china amps are half bridge designs so it requires alot more components. Brazilian amps are usually full bridge.
