Does replacing the display screen require the dealer to 'program' it or can it be simply done as a plug and play? I have a 2013 Audi A6
@ciroramirez528 Жыл бұрын
I just finished up, had to go back out there and check the fuse again, after reading everyone's comments; it didn't look popped but when I swapped out the fuse, it started working. Thanks to @HiTechElectronic holding it down in the west side! All the way from Texas, much appreciation for this video. I've been riding with no display for about 6 months, didn't even think of taking it to the dealer, they wanted about 2k for front and rear brakes. So I knew it would be in the ballpark of a thousand dollars I'm just guessing. When taking off the tape, see if you can find the part so you can just unwrap it, you might need to also cut some areas with some electrical scissors and don't give up, keep going all the way through the Y area until all the tape is gone, my cables were just bare in one spot, I used 18/2 low voltage power wire and scotch locks to add about 8" of length, but I need to go back and maybe tie wrap or clean up the wires because it's getting in the way of opening and closing. Started on Christmas Eve, took a break and went back out there around 1am Christmas Day to check a fuse that I had already checked, but it was bad all along, just because a fuse looks good either test it for continuity or make sure it works.

I have this issue but when I hold down media to switch to the add on car play that use the aux video in - then that displays fine! So screen is getting power - but the signal from the main unit itself is getting interrupted - which is weird as the external AV input goes through the same unit I suppose and that works fine (car play). Is there a way that I can get to the language setup on the dash? Or I have to change it thur the MMI system. As I mentioned earlier I have the android headunit in now but it came with the CAN BUS cable so I can switch back and forth from the factory MMi system to the android but when I switch back to the factory MMI system the screen is still black but I can use all the options.
