I visited this link, paid $AUD12 for the instructions, created a Bricklink account only to find out that the parts listed on the instructions for this build don't look ANYTHING like the ATM that you've shown here. Excuse me for saying so, but that is a fucking gross misrepresentation on your part. What the fuck!!!!

I’ve got this set, really nice. But tbh I originally thought it was a bit random to have a laundromat next to a bank but I recently realised that it’s got a joke behind it... money laundering. Quite a clever play on words

I would turn the pane around so the vertical part is closer to the staircase so there's less of a gap, or use two panels and turn it into a fish tank.

To place a ATM against one of the Windows is a clever idea. Funny that a lot of builders wanna do modifications but don't do it. But these are good and easy to do

The ATMs are a cool addition, and really they should have been thought of in the original model (at least having one). I don't see that the internal modification to the stairs adds anything to the model though - it doesn't look particularly good, and we can use our imagination for this missing wall. Besides, "fixing" the wall rather glosses over the fact that the door below has a handle on the outside, and can't be locked. So if you are going to get that literal about minifigures using the stairs to gain access, they could just walk through the door anyway.

I really like the ATM’s as they match my home bank’s colour scheme. The other changes are also nice. Now, I just need to find a set at a reasonable price. I’d build a scratch MOC but the story of this modular is great and really ties in with the first modular I purchased, the Detective’s Office.

If I were to try and Aquire this set and the detectives office to form the basis of a city Street layout like you suggest in another of your videos, would I be better off trying to find complete sets or parting them out? I think they’d be fantastic alongside the mini modular sets you sell the plans for on Small Brick City website. I’ve got an idea to include them and a couple of other MOCs I found on Rebrickable. I want build the street up on two tiers, and have a retaining wall in front of the street and another street closedoff to traffic for pedestrians on the lower tier and and ad things like market stalls and short buildings that wouldn’t block the upper tier and then have a tram/light rail running down the centre. I’d add vehicles, minifigs, and details like flower beds, benches, bollards and all the things to bring a moc/layout to life. I’d probably do the pedestrian walk through street with uneven cobblestone like you did in your other vid. I’m going to use the cobblestone technique in my pirate and medieval MOCs and layouts too as it’s just such a genius technique. Sorry for the long winded comment where I go into minute detail. You’ve just got me excited. I love your channel. Thank you, take care and all the best.

I always wondered whether I got the wrong bank because mine dont have ATM lol now I know. Thanks for sharing 🙏🕊️
@iarmstrong58522 жыл бұрын
I agree that a bank needs at least one ATM outside, however, I think that you've over complicated the stairs issue. To avoid making major layout changes, why not just put a handrail along the side of the stairs. This looks tidier than the large panel and is practical in universe too.

The problem i have with this set is the play feature is so contrived and forced. I wish jamie built the set as normally and found a flaw criminals could exploit in spite of his design, not because of it
@jamesdoble75805 жыл бұрын
I removed the laundry mat and enlarged the Bank to take up the full plate. Then built the laundry mat on another smaller plate. With the Bank enlarged you can also fix that problem :)
@SmallBrickCity5 жыл бұрын
That is a good mod too. But you can no longer launder money 😂
@leopold75623 жыл бұрын
Well, this is a first - a clickbait title which is called out in the video! Nice one! I like the idea of the ATM outside, as pretty much all banks seem to have these nowadays. I don't think I'll make any changes to the interior (aside from the lighting kit I bought recently), but the ATM will probably get put in at some point.

what about using a curved window? that should wrap around and bring it up flush to the side of the stairs just a thought
@SmallBrickCity5 жыл бұрын
That is a sound suggestion. Unfortunately, the curve actually makes the gap wider at one point, while being closer at another point. The bottom window frame would then have to be changed to curved as well, but doesn't solve the gap problem. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi, this is a different model. But, I can share it with you when I can. Due to the Covid-19 and travel restrictions, I am not in the country with my LEGO city. Excellent modification. I will look to doing this interior mod and perhaps one ATM to the exterior. I also noted the wall behind the tellers and between the bank and laundromat only comes up 3/4 of the way too, exposing access to the secure area from the laundromat. Am looking to do a glass panel addition to this wall too so that it is secure but retains the light flow.

Thanks! Yes, build up with glass panels is a good idea for light flow.
