Quick question, I’m a newly graduated nail tech. I’ve had a couple healthcare workers ask for press on that last a few days to a week. Is glue or sticky’s best or would u do a fiber gel for adhesion and not prep the nail?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Ай бұрын
It would depend on how long they are wanting them to stay on. If they are wanting something very temporary that they can take off easily when needed and reuse, then the sticky tabs are the best for that. If they want longer wear, you would want to use glue or fiber gel. Since you said they are healthcare workers and assuming their hands are probably in water often, fiber gel would be better to adhere than glue in that case. You still need to prep both the natural nail and the inside of the full cover tip when adhering with fiber gel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4aXZ6msap6ieNE

I have been using ManiQ Fiber Gel to apply my full cover tips and love it. But wondering if Synergy Hard gel can be used to adhere the tips? Which one of the Synergy gels would you recommend?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 28 күн бұрын
We would recommend using the Synergy Base to apply the full cover tips. Keep in mind, the Fiber Gel is more flexible than the Synergy gels so it may be a better option than a hard gel

Adhere the predesigned tips with acrylic! No worries with curing.
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Ай бұрын
Adhering the tips with acrylic is a great option as well. The only challenge with that is you have to make sure to hold them long enough until the product completely sets. If you accidentally move them in the curing time, you can end up with air pockets or gaps in the bond to the natural nail.

Thank you for the extra info! I have the protein bond & I am trying to figure out the order or how to use it. Like do I use that with tips if I am just using regular glue after a dehydrator? If I do dehydrator, protein, base coat & UV lamp is that the right order before doing the fiber gel under the tip? I know I am nowhere near a pro. But I feel so turned around by the order and process of different techniques. I want to see what works best for me but I feel like I don’t think I’m doing any of them right because I’m missing info on each one. Press ons from the store, tips, gel extensions 😢

When using fiber gel you don’t need base. Just Swipe then Protein Bond. I like to use a thin coat of fiber gel AS a base though.

If you are applying tips, you would use protein bond after applying the tip. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l37Fg5SebZt7g6Msi=_Y_r6To_KOHxLEk1 When using fiber gel, you do not need a base. You would remove shine from the nail, cleanse with swipe, protein bond and then fiber gel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6bOZXWIo9J5ZsUsi=hJFBDlqK3mInS0pF Here is our video all about how to use protein bond. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fYqbfKmMgK-fh6csi=rMAYOEJmu1MZsKqr

Do you have any suggestions for fitting full cover tips to extra wide nails? My thumbs are very wide, and even the Après 00 are not quite wide enough!
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Ай бұрын
Unfortunately tips are a "one size fits most" style of nail. For wider or flat nails, we recommend sizing to a bigger size to fit the c-curve and file the sides if needed. However, if the largest size still doesn't fit the width of your nails, we would recommend sculpting with a form as these can be customized to fit any shape or size of nail.

Your example had two air bubbles in the side where i always get bubbles and it lifts. How do I avoid that?
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc Ай бұрын
These two air bubbles happened as the nail was being moved into the light. Depending on how you are getting the air bubbles, you may need to check your sizing, amount of pressure you're using when applying or how much product you're using for the application. If these are all correct, you may need to have your client move the light so you don't have to move their hand when starting to cure. We would recommend watching the video again to see all the info about avoiding bubbles.

If I apply then with Fiber gel, I can easily get 4 weeks out of them. I fill them at two weeks and they look great.

With fiber gel, they can last 3+ weeks with proper prep and application and can be filled as well.

I have your base coat, builder gels except fibre gel. It’s a bit more money than the rest of builder gels. Can I use base coat or builder gel or sculpting gel for nail to glue on and then flash cure it. I also like the thick nail glue I have as it does not run. I want to buy fibre gel for my natural nail as a nail overlay. Thank you.

I have a question about nails (gel extension, builder gel and acrylic), clients have complained that their nails were soft after removal. Asides the possibility that they yanked off their nails what else should I do to ensure no one else has soft nails? Is it the grit of my sanding band, or weight of the grown out extension on natural nails. Please help🥺
@youngnailsinc
@youngnailsinc 17 күн бұрын
Damage or thinning of the nails generally is a result of over-filing or improper removal/maintenance. We recommend using a medium sanding band gently to prep the natural nail. We also recommend filling the nails every 2-3 weeks to maintain them rather than soaking off or completely removing. If you repeatedly remove and re-apply the nails, this can thin the nails over time with the repeated prep. If you just fill them, you are only prepping the re-growth, not the whole nail. If the client wants the nails removed, they need to understand that pulling/peeling them off can cause significant damage or thinning of the nail plate and should not be done.

When are you guys going to stock the tiny mandrel and sanding bands? That big old band doesn’t really fit in smaller tips.

Those tips look a bit dark for the gel to cure through... I'll take your word for it, but I'll stick to clear. So one thing I've found is to use light Elegance airbond, gelish tip prep or apres tip prep: they all have ethyl acetate and can melt plastic so you don't have to buff.

they do fully cure, i use the apres ones and have no issues ive also fully cured one on my own nails when its been fully painted etc

Melting the tip with acetone or any other chemical is not as good as buffing the tip. Which is why we don't cleance with acetone, melting the plastic can actually smooth it out, creating the opposite of what you want. It really doesn't take much longer to buff the tip with an e-file, maybe 2 seconds more than applying that tip prep to all 10 nails. If you cannot spare 2 seconds... I'd rather have full adhesion than 2 seconds to spare... 🙂

As you can easily see when she holds the tip up next to the side of the nail, the bottom of the tip where it attaches to the nail is very thin and transparent. Due to this factor the tips will cure just fine, especially if you're using a clear gel glue underneath to secure them. If you use a colored solid gel glue however, you may run into an issue of it not curing all the way through, but that's due to the opacity of the solid gel glue and not the tip. Hope that helps!
