I fixed this exact issue for my neighbor today and saved her $2500 vs what she was quoted to lift the head. Thanks!

No problem, I'm glad it's giving viewers an idea on how to tackle this on their own.

Thank you very much for this video! I didn't want to have to take a bunch of stuff off and cut the coolant pipe brackets like others have shown. I just did this today and I am very thankful for this video. The only problem now is that I have NO CLUE how to manage plugging the NEW harness back in. How did you do THAT? I wrestled this thing for 6 hours so far and I'm ready to be done! I'm half-tempted to cut the damn coolant pipe and use a section of rubber hose to close it back up.

I just passed it through the rear, but before that I bent the wires from the pigtail connectors so they would line up after passing it through the rear of the firewall to make it easier, I used the long pick from the video to guide it back in place until I heard the click, it did take me a little bit of time and patience but I got it done, good luck 👍

Try using some electrical tape to position the connector the right way, so that after you pass it through by the firewall you won't have trouble trying to flip it around to line up with with the other connector end.

I was already thinking about using tape to flip the front one around, thanks for the confirmation. I'l like to find the engineers at Toyota who decided on and approved this design and kick them in the nuts.

@@cheezr323 I got this done a couple weeks ago and wanted to thank you again for the help. I ended up making a special hook tool from a yard sign frame(because it it was in my junk pile and was some stiff steel wire) and got a nice flashlight and some forceps from Harbor Freight and those were just the right trick. I'd struggle for an hour and then come back, watch your video again, pay extra attention to the exact angle you were attacking from and 5 minutes later, a connector was undone, then repeat that process. Putting the new one in, I hooked the front connector and flipped it around and used my other hand to twist the whole harness from the back of the engine. When I was done and putting things back together I stuffed all the cavities with #3 steel wool. Lets see them try to get in there now! THANKS AGAIN!

About to do the same damn thing this weekend apparently, threw the code this morning. Already replace a camshaft position sensor from rodents chewing it up but that sounds a hell of a lot easier than this one. Thanks for this video!

Yeah this one is a little hard to get too because those coolant pipes are right in the way blocking everything, its possible though with a little patience. Good luck!
