How to fix Trackball mouse: slow, laggy, sluggish, working badly (Logitech MX Ergo)

My ergo m575 started slipping and stuttering a few weeks ago, but I only discovered your video a few days ago hinting that the issue could be cleaning related. I took out the ball and carefully cleaned the three support nibs inside. I was shocked at how much gunk I removed from around those points. As soon as I cleaned them out, the mouse completely recovered and is working perfectly. thanks for your video!

My MX Ergo has serious lags, but if I connect to USB charge work ok, but the battery is full! If I disconnect the USB charge, start lags again. Any suggestion? Thank you, very informative video.

That's so funny. Guy literally has the same ergonomic Logitech keyboard I have. He even has the QWERTZ version. That could be my desktop with the MX Ergo trackball next to the Ergo K860 keyboard. (Except my computer's Bluetooth. No dongle. Also even though it's QWERTZ I use the Dvorak keyboard layout. I wonder whether he does.)

your video really helped me, i was previously trying to open the mouse so i can clean but didn't have the right screw and it was pain. had i known you can just push it out i would have done that previously. thanks for your help. im surprised Logi tech support didn't say or suggest that i could do that. all it needed was a little clean and now the mouse turns right while previously it would only go left.

Thank for you solving my problem! The rollerball had been giving me trouble for weeks, and I kept blowing through the hole in the back thinking I could dislodge whatever was in there. It usually helped, but only temporarily. I was about to order a whole new one from Amazon but decided to Google it first. Thank goodness! I had no idea I could pop out the ball and clean out the inside! What a satisfying experience, cleaning it out with a Q-tip. And now it works like brand new. Thank you for saving me $$$.

Great list of possibilities. One more thing is lube. I keep mine clean, but still got sluggish after 6 months. Sprayed a little silicone on my hands and rubbed the ball in it. Ball goes much smoother now. I saw vids about using dry lube. No idea what that was, but thought it might be like the silicone spray I use for my wigs. Turns out that is exactly what they mean by dry lube.

Thank you for this video. My trackball stopped working at work yesterday. I thought that my battery died. However, after charging it, I noticed that the other buttons worked. I searched "MX Ergo scroll wheel not working" and found a solution, which required taking the mouse apart. Partway through the process, I realized I was trying to fix the wrong problem, so I searched for "MX Ergo trackball not working" and stumbled upon this video. This saved me from buying a new, expensive mouse!!!

Well, I've been using my Ergo for like two years now and it started to have a little lag when I leave it for a while unused. It's just like a few seconds before I can use it again. It's kinda flustrating, not like a huge thing but I'm wondering what cause it.

I'm pretty sure this is a power saving feature where the wireless signal is paused if inactivity is detected. Happens on brand new mice as well.

I believe if you install Logi Options+ and you just reassign the precision mode button to something else, that will effectively disable it!
