That's was super helpful. I am driving a MAZDA CX-5 2017 model 2.0 automatic and I noticed this issue almost 1.5 years back. But recently I have experienced this more frequently. Even though I did ask agency to check while my usual service they couldn't find the reason and as since it's happening only once in a while I was not able to show this to them. You solved my long standing problem and thanks a lot for this video.

Wow thanks so much! This whole time I thought it was my fuel injectors but Scotty kilmer was saying that's kind of hilarious because gas is a cleaner in the first place. I did my fuel injector test the two in the middle sounds thinner than the other ones but they all sound okay. I have had fuel problems in the past with other cars cuz I run the gas pretty low but I was convinced that it's probably not the fuel injectors. So then I started to wonder if it was the computer. I know it's not the transmission cuz I've been driving it like this for a year and I drive a lot I mean a lot. I do lift an Uber and more. And it hasn't gotten worse. So it has to be something that would take a long long time. Hence your video! Transmission fluid I never even really thought about it but hey it's part of the transmission I should have looked in the manual like you did! Anyway wonderful and thorough video I wish more KZbin videos were like yours! Keep up the great work! It was so helpful!

I have a 2009 Mazda 3. Car went out while driving. When I turn the car on, it just revs and stays running in any gear if I let off the clutch. I still need to use the clutch to put it in to any gear. Someone over the phone thought that sounded out of the norm and said to look in to bleeding my clutch. My fluid was damn near empty when I checked it. Took more than half a bottle to fill.

@5:45 you mentioned that after 5-10 miles the car started shifting smoothly -- unfortunately, this can be a FALSE positive -- as the new CX-5 of mine has a missed-shifting issue first thing in the morning, every morning, (going between 2nd and 3rd gear under medium load) -- but after about 5-minutes/miles it starts to shift normally.

To everyone who has an issue with jerking or slipping mazda transmissions......please use Amsoil Fuel Efficient automatic fluid........its like magic for mazda transmissions and will shift like new again provided there is no physical damage with the gears or clutch plates. Amsoil Fuel Efficient automatic transmission fluid will give you smoother shifts, increase mpg and send power to the wheels faster. You have to do a complete flush if possible. That means all the old junk fluid needs to get swapped out with new amsoil tranny fluid.

Even for transmissions calling for 3309 fluid bc thats all i use bc thats what it calls for? My 2007 cx7 had very poor maintence to the transmission so i only did a drain and fill . It slipped before and still does. Looking for a solution.

@@christophercates5257 you can still do a drain and fill with Amsoils Signature Series Fuel Efficient Transmission fluid (Black bottle with a blue cap). 1 drain and fill per year will remove about half of the fluid as the other half is still left in the torque converter. It is the ultimate fluid for stepped gear automatic transmissions. It doesnt matter if its a 5 speed or a 6 speed from mazda because i have both. It works like magic. They have different oils for manual transmissions too that are amazing of you drive manual cars. But im speaking on the auto trannys from mazda which i personally own and what this fluid has done for my cars. It will give you a lot smoother shifts, more power and better fuel economy. There is nothing on the market like it. But get it done before you damage your gears. Mazda makes great cars but the conventional tranny fluid they used pre 2012 (when they were still with Ford) is GARBAGE! That crap blackened up in no time. Its a few bucks more for the amsoil but it works out to be cheaper because it can go double the service life of any oem on the market. Amsoil has all the benefits.

2011 chevy Malibu and the scanner detected 2 codes (P0783, P2714) P0783 = Transformation pressure switch solenoid “E” circuit high P2714= Pc solenoid 4 stuck off My car it has been skipping like crazy for 3/4months. Maybe if i try using Lucus and changing transmission oil do you guys think these 2 codes will go away and check engine will be wiped away completely? Thank you !

Hi, great video! I own a 2017 Mazda 6 and it shifts hard when downshifting to 3rd gear. I'm planning on draining the pan, replacing the filter and refilling. The fluid is very brown and should be blue. It has 115,000 miles on it. Any suggestions?

Have a 2007 CX7 transmission fluid was never changed ever. I know when this happens to never flush but do a drain and fill,which i did. Transmission slips between 3 and 4 gear . If you have to step on the gas for a boost it shifts rough and slips. Will the lucas fluid help.this you think. Also getting a low pitch humming from rear transfer case while at a cruise around 30mph and up. Inspected it and seems it may have a slight transfercase seal leak right where the cv shaft goes into transfer case. I see thick grease build up around that area. Should i change the transfer case oil if its never been changed? Thanks

@@chaitanyac3069 yes actually it did to my amazement. I used 12oz of it. Supplimented 12oz of stop slip for 12 oz of 3309 fluid ,took about a week until i noticed a difference but yes it did work.

If there's a warning light on follow the steps for that Warning light .... No warning light make sure it is not burned out . Or otherwise disabled .

Figured I’d comment. I have a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3 hatchback and when I drive it climbs gears abnormally fast. It will sometimes climb to 4th gear when I’m only going 20 mph. Idk if I need spark plugs coil pack, idk if the 2005 needs a new tcm or if it doesn’t have one and needs a input and output speed sensor and a vehicle speed sensor and a pcm?? Idk these are all things I’ve researched. Besides getting a new transmission idk what else to do or what it needs. Don’t have a check engine light on and the car has lack of acceleration and power. Can anyone help?

Ring, watch, they conduct electricity, you could get serious burns if power passes though them. That rope around his wrist will draw his hand into moving parts. I say this so maybe someone who hasn’t worked around machinery might avoid life changing injuries. Please work smart, and safe.

I have a 2009 CX-7 and I am having this problem. I am also having the problem where my battery is dead every morning when I come out. It is not the battery because I have changed it several times. The tests say transmission and alternator are fine. It does indicate low voltage though. At this point I am thinking of changing the alternator anyway. Anyway, these are the codes I am having. P0012 B1318 B1994 B1884 Again, it says transmission ok. Starter ok and alternator ok on all the testing devices I have tried. But it still have these problems. I am trying to figure out what I can do because changing the transmission is a big deal. I will try to change the transmission oil along with the alternator and see if anything gets better but if anyone has any insight please let me know. Thank you.

Interesting, I'm going through similar symptoms with my 2010 CX-9. Transmission jumps to gear 3 and gives me a AT warning light. Code was P0974 indicating Shift Solenoid A Control Circuit had high voltage for a predetermined period of time.

Lord Caldlow I traded the car in February, got a rav4. It was just way too much to deal with and I needed something reliable. Also mine did not have trunk lights as far as I know. There was nowhere else that took power and the transmission problem was gettin worse. I will say I do miss how nice my old car was because the new small SUV’s suck, it’s way too small. I find myself missing my old car for that reason and also the fully loaded version of my old car is way better than the fully loaded version of this new one. But I digress, all of that without the reliability means nothing.

derwinism hey. I have a 2006 mazda5 doing the same thing. And has the same code. Idk what to do? I called a few shops and they say get a new transmission! 😳😡Which makes me mad. I can’t afford that and if I had that kind of money I would just buy another car. Js. I should just have to replace the shift selanoid? Right? And is that external? (No one ever answers anyone’s comments so it’s frustrating.) So, if anyone can help?And, will this Lucas transmission fix work on a slipping transmission regardless of code? Thanks.

Suzanna J I traded mines in. It was just too much of a headache honestly and I was just so tired of being ripped off at these shops as a woman it’s the most frustrating thing. And when you go in there with your problem they act like you don’t know what you are talking about when you have been experiencing the issues. Anyway, if replacing the solenoid is something you think is doable I would say go for it but honestly it’s probably not gonna get better. I would just find a way to get rid of it before it starts to get even crazier. My last straw was when it stalled on me on the highway all the way out in NJ. I was lucky that it started back up and I didn’t need to call a tow truck, took my time getting back home. So yeah, it’s up to you but make sure you get someone you trust to give a 2nd and third opinion.

The symptom you describe that your battery is dead is something is drawing current when the car is off and all that needs to be done is a parasitic draw test and just checking all the fuses one by one. Should take a couple of hours to see what is causing the draw.

It's a proven product if used properly like anything. High milage . No Sensor or Computer issues . This is acceptable for a high milage transmissions . I suggest you learn more about these transmissions before you get to this product . Avoid adding it when there is another problem you have not addressed.
