I'm having the same problem with my Kia rear washer jet so after watching this it looks like it's the same non return washer valve problem too. This has saved me a trip to the Kia dealership and alot of faffing around i'll just do it myself, thank you, it's been a great help.

Thanks to your video I've got my Hyundai i10 screen washer jets working again! I followed all of your tips but too scared to pull pipes off and remove those fastener clips until I watched you do it! Not only did I do the front but then went on to do the back window wash jet to find that the plastic clip unit was broken so it couldn't hold the hose in the right position. So I used common sense and secured the hose to the unit then replaced it and Bob's your uncle, all sorted! I dread to think how much hassle and money your video has saved me! Many thanks Annette 😁

Thank you. If you have issues with the rear washer it will be a inline valve, which looks like and doubles up as a pipe connector, housed in boot lid, and is accessed by removing the top rear brake light.

Great job gents, I have just done the front washers on my daughter kia picanto after watching this video and the tip for soaking the jet was brilliant. I soaked hers in white vinegar for a while and it done the trick and saved her a few quid. Thanks chaps keep the videos coming.

Having the exact same problem with the driver side nozzle on my wife's 2015 Hyundai i20, video helped alot thankyou, the i20 has the exact same layout and same nozzles as this Kia by the looks of it :)

Good job gentleman, I am restoring my 2003 Kia Rio Cinco and I will definitely soak the jets first and also I found out that there is a filter on the pump that I will also clean before I buy any parts, and flush the reservoir and hopefully that will work.

I meant to add that I used my hubby's tire inflater to blow pressurised air through the tube that I disconnected from either end, down into the wash reservoir which bubbled and then up to the jets and from the jets towards the disconnected tube. My hubby was impressed as I only knew how to put petrol in before! 😆😆😆

Good idea, something acidic could work. Have recently done the same job on another fairly new car. There's a fine filter that's used to get the spray pattern that seems to easily clog up. Thanks for watching.

Mine was blocked pump side of the pipe connector, blew down it and its cleared the filter ? Which looks completely inaccessible. Thanks for the pointer. Also noticed there is a pipe joint on the rear washer as it goes into the boot door. Kia rio 2014 diesel.

I did this which cleared it for one tank full, i then re filled and its back to barely any flow? any ideas also 2014 Kio Rio, i then "blew down" it again with a small hand held balloon pump and it work again, guess I have do that each time ?

Hi ya, Thank you for the handy video.. it seems once you removed the nozzles and put the wire instead, the wipers were not working..you sprayed the windshield but wipers were stuck down.. the same happened to me when I was doing the same repair.. How to fix the wipers now, do you know?

The only slightly error I made which was quickly rectified. Was while I was testing the jets without the wipers connected the position of the wipers has moved so I had to remove the wipers blades, put the wipers onto intermittent and listen when the motor stopped to know that the motor was in the correct position when I refitted the wiper blades. I've just replaced the windscreen motor on a Vauxhall Astra, I should have filmed it

I have the same car.. and I have problem with spray nozzles. When I’m stopped and use the front washer nozzles it sprays in the middle of the windshield and eventually the water goes up the back and washes all the car😂… is that normal?

You know something that consider, I had a similar problem on my 2021. And come to find out it was a faulty washer fluid reservoir cap. Basically it wasn't closing like it should and creating a good seal inside the reservoir. Actually when I took it to the Kia dealer he came out and was like oh yeah it was something real simple. And I'm like oh yeah what was it, , anyway he says oh it just looks like the cap it was messed up and we replaced it. Anyway it only cost me like $10 for the cap

Just yesterday I repaired one and using a small drill bit I dilled into the inlet of the washer jet and it now works perfectly. There's a fine mesh I think and a non return valve which also seems to fail. My 23 year old toyota has never failed 😁

There are plastic rivits that need to be removed once the widescreen wipers are removed, and carefully pry the plastic cover off, you then have to squeeze the back of the nozzle to pop it out.

Agree, very hard to get nozzles out, access to one very restricted. Kia Carens 2014. Blunt knife or something start at back to lever up, then just pull, front clip bent backwards but came out. Mí ádh of a yoke!

You can but there's a good chance of breaking the retaining clips on the nozzle, not an issue if your replacing them

Try locating the the fuse for the windscreen washer to see if it's OK. Then with a multi meter check if your getting voltage to the motor

Just soaking the non return valve from a Picanto right now. It's not super clear, but I can see two black masses inside, may be the rubber part has split in two and is blocking it. If the bleach doesn't unblock it somehow, I'll drill it out for now.

I have heard of them being drilled out when all else fails. Also important to take note of which way round the valve is reinstalled, for obvious reasons. Hope all goes well, thanks for watching

@@hippopotamus86 if I remember correctly they make up part of the o'ring non return and filter mechanism. The only downside of removing them, is that it probably takes an extra second for the water to be ejected from the nozzle

Gave it a final blast by holding it to the tap forcing water through it (and all over me). Thanks, I left it last minute to fix for a trip tomorrow so no time for a replacement!

It’s a Kia with a 7 yr warranty. Take it back to the dealership, they’d do it all for free !

Do not buy a new washer jets. Use a small drill, go from were the pipe fits on. Go from the water feed , so we're the water goes up. Go very slow so you do not Go though the top. Run the drill up and down, then blow down the pipe on the unit. This will clear the jet. Muck build up in side. Kia wanted £18.50 Inc vat per unit. So run the small drill up the shift do not go to far. Also clean the headers off unit. Good luck. Ten minutes to do both.

Yes, but Kia wouldn't change the washer nozzles for free, they wanted to take the car in do all the diagnosis etc. Rather than except that a customer had found the issue of a blocked nozzles. Unfortunately when I first looked a the car I didn't film flushing the windscreen washer reservoir, were the screen wash was in poor condition
