This significantly improves the way the games look. A great tip is to play in 4:3 if you're okay with it, it’s worth it! The Wii doesn’t actually support true widescreen, instead, it uses anamorphic widescreen. This means it stretches the 640x480p (4:3) resolution to fit widescreen, which reduces the quality by about a third. Try switching to 4:3, combined with everything else shown in the video. I’ve been playing like this for months, and the difference is stunning!

thank you for the comment. The "Video Width > Framebuffer" setting forces the native resolution - 640x480, you can see the black bars on the sides of the screen at the end of the video. At least that's the way I understand it.
@ReverbRisingАй бұрын
@@DenverGamer yeah this exactly, yet it's still anamorphic, even at 4:3 it gets stretched a little bit to fit the screen

Dude you are such a life saver. The first video I watched by you was your modmii video a couple weeks ago and I have to say, you turned Wii modding from something complicated to me into something simple. My brother is a huge smash bros fan and I was able to mod my brother’s Wii and install Smash bros Universe as a surprise for his 20th birthday because of you. I already had a cheap hdmi cable and converter but you convinced me to upgrade to be sure that I can get the best picture possible. I made sure to use your affiliate links for the mayflash and hdmi cable to make sure your channel benefits, because honestly it deserves all the love and support. Please keep making awesome content! Also, do you plan to make videos going more in depth about installing game backups onto gx loader and/or Nintendont? I followed your Wiimod video and have gx and Nintendont installed but I haven’t touched it besides the video settings you said to configure. When I log into gx, It gives me an error message while loading in saying “USB device not initialized. Switching to channel list mode.” and I have been eagerly awaiting for your tutorial videos lol
@DenverGamerАй бұрын
@@Donja1 hey, thank you so much! I do have a usbloadergx and Nintendont videos in the Wii modding playlist on my channel. They are a little old and they are on my list to update. They should answer most questions though. Feel free to message me on IG. Thank you so much for

Does this work when playing wii games on the wii u as well?
@justinseyer4358Ай бұрын
So I did all the settings and in both the Wii and USB Loader GX it is showing these weird scan lines, but I do still have a cheap HDMI adapter on mine currently, but since you recommended the Mayflash for this project, i ordered one of those to replace it so I will just leave the settings until that comes in and see if the lines clear up 😂

@@justinseyer4358 I've gotten weird lines from 480i before. I have had problems with a few of the cheap adapters as well though.
@justinseyer4358Ай бұрын
@@DenverGamer strangely, I get them on 480p, but not on 480i. I guess my Wii has mental issues 🙃

@@justinseyer4358 man, I would think it's the adapter or cord. Most likely adapter. You can always try a different TV as well. I don't know these things can be finicky.

2:24 (480p) can’t be chosen 😢, how can I solve it
@DenverGamerАй бұрын
@@Bahraini0 a few questions: Are you using a composite cable? Are you using a component cable? Is it a Wii mini? Does your TV support 480p?
@Bahraini0Ай бұрын
@@DenverGamer yes I used composite cable, it’s oldest wii, yes it supports 480p.
@DenverGamerАй бұрын
@@Bahraini0 the composite cable does not support 480p. You need a component cable or a HDMI adapter.
