And this is just on the Xbox side. I on the other hand have pre amps and amps running atmos 7.2.4 surround. Giving you another long list as to why you have no sound.... FIXED: if you turn your TV off and on again it fixes it. But you need to fully unplug it and plug it back in, can’t find a permanent fix yet.

If I keep the output on stereo the...cracking noise happens every time I have a headset plugged into controller, in this case the cracking noise is on the headset as well as the audio system plugged on the TV; if I unplugged the headset, the sound on audio system is all right. The only permanent and compromise-fix I found for headset is to switch to mono output. I didnt had this problem until recently and I had the Xbox for about a year.

If you're on Xbox and you can't hear your or you're trying to watch prime video or using any other app and there is no sound, go to your "settings" and then to "volume and audio output" and then go to "additional options" and turn off "Allow passthrough" if you have this turned on it does exactly what it says which is allowing the audio to pass through. Meaning you're not going to hear it.

This will happen to me when I switch games sometimes and I still don't know what is causing it. Go from one game to another and then I will have no sound from the game. I don't use a headset, just my TV soundbar. As soon as I exit the game I have system sounds. Go back to a game, no audio. It's annoying as hell. I've had my series x for like 2 weeks.

I use Sennheiser over ear heapdhones (wired). I have tried everything and nothing has fixed the audio crackling. I have tried using the controller wired, changing settings, updating... For some reason it only happens on my headphones. If I use my Apple earbuds they work perfectly fine. There is obviously a controller issue with running bigger drivers in headphones especially ones like mine that are over ear. and no, they arent studio headphones. these are cheap $60 Sennheiser wired headphones that are made for phones and laptops, so theyre only 18ohms and the seires x controller can power 60ohm ganing headphones

If you are playing Fallout 4 and your dialogs only play while in the paused. You need to deleted all your add on data. For xbox this is *MANAGE GAME AND ADD ONS*. You need to destroy all your saved data, like youve never played the game before. This data is stored in microsofts cloud. Anyway all of your mods, saved story data its gotta go. My game works great now

For future reference and possibly help someone else, I was having the same issue with my Elite controller and Skull Candy Plyr headset, I was using a cheap 3.5mm cable and that was the issue. I used the one that came with the headset and It worked right away.

Good video but absolute garbage xbox x problems. I had no problem with game chat group chat proximity chat absolute zero issues until there's a PS4/5 in my party. My game automatically mutes myself the game automatically mutes people Im playing with. The longest it's lasted is one round in Search and Destroy. Im at my wits end with this garbage. Am I a software developer no do I build computers for fun for family and friends yes so I'm not a a complete freaking idiot.

None of these work. My sound fell apart after the Xbox update pertaining to their “ecology” settings. This update should’ve been optional. Another stupid move by Xbox. My PS5 doesn’t have these problems.

I miss the days of just plugging stuff in and it worked, not works one day then the next it doesn't and then the day after that it turns into a PlayStation from an Xbox. And then it turns into a piece of plastic that is filling up the trash can.

I tried EVERYTHING, only real fix (which wasn't much of a fix) was doing "Mono output" in the Additional options. So for some reason my headset only let's certain tracks of audio through (no, not like Left and Right), when listening to music I can't hear the main vocal, but I can hear the instruments and the backing vocals (although they sound like they have a reverb filter on them) and the same thing happens in games, any vocal or effect tracks seem to be 75% quieter than everything else and have a reverb filter on them. So the only fix I have that "works" is to set the output as mono, but then everything becomes 75% quieter and I can't really hear anything.

@@BrendanSikinger kinda. I plugged the cable in the other way around and made sure to shove the cable in as hard as possible, and that seemed to do the trick. So I think maybe one of the rings on the cable wasn't making contact inside the controller 🤷‍♂️

@@KLRCAT I sadly have both a ps5 and series X because I bought the series X because of starfield. Kinda wish I’d stuck to just the ps5. I have never had any problems with any of the PS consoles, and I cannot say the same for Xbox. Every generation of Xbox I’ve had technical problems with the system and that’s not even mentioning the poor excuse for exclusives. And it’s sad too, because it’s not like I want them to fail. Hopefully with the acquisition of Bethesda, they can force them to produce a near glitch free rendition of Elder Scrolls 6…. But after starfield I’m not so sure.

If you’re here in 2024, the problem was fixed for me by pulling the hdmi out of both the tv and the Xbox (I have a series X) and blowing air into both ends and then plugging it back in. This solution came after multiple unplugging attempts of both the power and hdmi cables in both my tv and my console, to no avail. Idk it worked for the n64 and it worked for me now!😃

About to try this method. I was playing warzone last night joined a discord party then ten minutes later every sound including Xbox sounds were 10x louder than it’s even capable of. Distorted awful ear piercing sound. Plugged in iPhone headphones and it still did it so it’s definitely the Xbox(series s) if anyone knows about this pls let me know

Im having the same issue, luckily I had a spare controller which I swapped it out for and my audio started working perfectly again but unfortunately the one im using right has a broken RB button :/. I have the xbox series S aswell, I honestly believe it’s the controller though, not the console itself.

I actually just figured it out. So what I did is I joined a party by myself, went to options, and audio settings and I noticed my headset chat mixer was all the way to right maxed out for some weird reason. Once I evened it out and put it more towards the middle the issues went away completely. I hope this helps

I did find a weird reset also I didn’t know about where you hold Start, Select, and Xbox button at same time as u plug it in-then rotate joysticks clockwise 3 times each then click both triggers 3 times each while they’re locked in the number 2 trigger stop… didn’t work but good to know there’s a reset option even if it is insane

1 thing.. I have the lg c2 which has Dolby atmos. Should I use this format in speaker sound ? When just using the tv(no soundbar)? It does sound better I think, but can’t really figure it out. Most people say if u use tv only the stereo uncompressed, but when my tv has Dolby atmos should I use that?

Yes, it is a controller issue. Curiosly i have a case in wich if i. Use my black series controler and white one s contriller it is all fine, but if i connect blue series controller in getting audio issues, so in my case is nit the console tv or cable, it is a faulty control

Ok what about this scenario. Series X and controllers are updated already, headset works with cell phone, laptop, Xbox S controller and Roku device controller headset jack. So I discard the idea of broken headset. I tried my sons' headsets and no sound, audio volume settings in console are as high as possible, I checked all 3 options you shared in this video. Anyone can think of anything else?

I'm having issue where my mic monitoring and headset chat mixer isn't working, the only thing is working is the headset volume. When I go to xbox one accessories it said I need update required and I need a usb cable. I think the xbox contorller needs a update cause I got xbox stereo adapter. the other day my dashboard volume was working no in game sound, now dashboard vol and in game has completely gone except i went in hdr dashboard menu and the 2 options left and right had sound. i do not get What's going on it feels like the way the x box interacts with the tv is messing it all up
