How to fix Yamaha Blaster 200 bogging problem

Make sure the carburetor is getting plenty of air and fuel to keep the engine running make sure the carburetor is clean and has all the crap cleared out of it make sure the exhaust fits tightly to the engine and doesn't have any holes or cracks in it make sure the wiring is all top shape and get rid of the tors if you have any questions put them in the comments

Bra I just got a blaster and didn’t know a lot about but heard good things so I sold my dirtbike and got one and when I got it there was a box on the top didn’t know what it was but thanks to you I now know what it is and I need to take it off and mine was also bogging

I'd like to mention after rebuilding a blaster that sat in pieces for 8 or 9 years , I had a serious bogging problem, did everything I could think of to fix it without success, until eventually I discovered no exhaust fumes coming out the tail pipe, turns out some critter built a nest in there and I didn't realise, after a clean out she's running like a top

Heres a tricky one i just boought a blaster and it gots spark compression fuel and air i cleaned the carb and only bump start will sometimes work then itll either 1. Kill itself or 2. Bog itself down and like i said only bump start works from time to time with choke wide open

look into carb jetting make sure its not flooding or running lean and quality of spark. or maybe your idle is just to low. Check your reeds make sure they are tight with no gaps.

I’m looking to buy a blaster. Guy has a aftermarket pipe on it and says if not staying on gas in 1st it will bog out. Sounds like jets need to be clean or just carb in general! Should I buy it? Supper clear blaster 2000

if it at least runs that is a good sign maybe he changed the gear ration on the sprocket to a higher gear so its a little boggy. or the original tires (the balloon looking ones) are harder for the low torque engine to spin that can happen maybe get shorter tires. also is it made in the year 2000 or priced at 2000 if that is the price that is at the top of the price range and should be perfect

I got a 2000 yamaha blaster yfs200 start but as soon I hit the gas shut off I put new piston new carburetor new spark plug and wire and still bogging out I don't know what else I can do any suggestion

clutch prolly or not enough gas but if it revs and idels fine id say clutch issue

I just bought a blaster and its very difficult to start but it idles fine and it’ll rev when idling but when in gear it’ll putter very bad and almost like back fire and rev up and down like nuts.

I Dont really think I have a bogging down issue but could use some advice. So, The story goes I bought a blaster a few days ago, because I used to ride them about 15 years ago. And this one has the same issue one of the brand new 2003's had I used to ride. When Reving out any gear, it feels like there is a HARD Rev limiter kicking in Like 1k rpm's short of where the engine should easily rev out to. Its Really strange because a friend had 2 brand new 2003's back when they were new, and 1 of them had the exact same issue, it just would not rev out like the other one did. and it was a very noticeable "rev limiter" like feeling.

TheOnlyTwitch.R6 hey man, I have a 2001 Yamaha blaster and it has about the same issue, you hold the throttle wide open and it will just putt and not put out the correct power, if you hold the throttle for long enough it will hit powerband and go a little faster.
