They were pretty.. but you know what, sometimes our own moods can affect how we see our art. I have walked away from things I’ve made and come back and , sometimes liked it.. (sometimes I still didn’t like it) I liked the flowers you made. But it was also very fun watching you keep going with the page too! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Marta! Thanks for all you share with us! You help me escape and feel happy.

I liked the flowers. You called them childish, but do yourself a favour and call them “child-like”. I love love love the final product. But it really doesn’t matter which I preferred. This art is for you, and we are just along for the journey. I have a page in my watercolour journal, and this is inspiring me to go back and give it a bit of love and transformation. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Marta, I feel tonight you shared a great insight. You showed us that even professionals struggle sometimes and it doesn't always rate a #1. You also showed us perseverance and an understanding that sometimes you just change course a bit... keep going and come out with a project you do like! I was happy, as always, to experience this with you and feel a bit more confidence now! Thank You for sharing!!

I finally had the chance to watch the video instead of just answering your question. The final product is fantastic! Thanks for sharing this journey with us. It is helpful to me to have seen you not only needing to follow your inner insticts but also pursuing a rescue of your spread. This rescue of yours will make me more confident when I have to rescue a piece. It is definitely doable! Your spread took on more beauty as you moved on to circles, added the floral rub ons, removed some of the busy-ness in the background with the blue, and (I must admit) the addition of splashes ( I have only done that once) and then the beautiful butterflies. Thanks for showing me that I should never give up. You should be happy with the final product. It is lovely!

Whenever I feel like I failed a project I immediately put it away and don't look at it for two weeks. 90% of the time when I come back I love it. When that didn't work I see a new potential in it because I'm not disappointed or frustrated so I can finish it beautifully. No one likes all of their art and often what we don't think is that great, someone else loves, lol. Eye of the beholder and all! Be easy and love yourself! Unless you're a machine or Jesus you cannot be perfect!

Yes, please, stay forever and ever longer Both projects are amazing, the problem for me with the flowers was that both the background and the flowers were colorful and busy and none of it could stand out as a focal point. Also bubbles and butterflies are my comfort zone so of course I like them more 😁 I think I am going to give it a try with my own colorful supplies and see what will come out of it. I loved the flowers and I liked when you added the black lining. I think what was throwing you off may have been the background napkin flowers were clean and defined and the ones in front were to undefined. It makes your eye focus on the background. In the end you need to be happy with what you create. Your heart needs to be in it. Fix it until it fixes that need in you. You teach us how to push through the “ugly” point with confidence to find where the art piece is taking you.

Ya know, Marta, I think this was one of times that I could really, really relate with you. I do something and I hate it. I feel a little discouraged. Bummed, really. I ask my hubby and he tells me it's beautiful, I just need to relax and get out of my head. The flowers, to me, were beautiful and free. But you felt otherwise, which is perfectly fine. And the end result was beautiful, too! I say all of this just to say that it was nice to see how you work through this situation. How you dealt with the thoughts you had. Gives peeps like me encouragement. Not every piece is 100% to our own liking, but we stick with it until we are excited at the end result. I do this and eventually come out with something I love. The imperfections added depth to my project.😊😎🙃😘

Oh my goodness, you made me laugh at the end!! You two are funny together! And that is a good thing. You remind me of my husband and I, and we’ve been together 35 years. Anyway, A podcast would be awesome, but it is extra work and responsibility. I can see you doing it one day for sure. Especially when Hannah is in school full time and you’ll have more hours in the day. I’m going to tell you one thing I learned in art/painting. When I began 6 years ago, all I did was paint using acrylics. I’d watch videos and paint, watch videos and paint, then I got my first commision and it became work not a hobby. I did not mind as I was feeling important. My kids were grown and I had the time. I eventually, after painting so much, I wanted to try other styles, mediums. I got a bit bored and when I found other things to try, I did, and some worked and some did not. Then I found your channel a little over a year ago, I learned so much from you. I slowed down my painting and began mixed media work. I also incorporated my painting skills with mixed media, selling many pieces to friends and others, either from my FB group page or at art/craft shows. I would have moments like you did today. It’s okay and it’s normal. I remember doing a Rat Pack piece for a friend’s brother, who paid me a lot of money to do a painting using a photograph as a reference with some changes. I liked the money amount he offered me, but boy did it stress me out, because I wanted the 4 men to look like who they were, especially Frank Sinatra and his blue eyes. It took me two months to finish it with many moments of wanted to throw the canvas away and start all over, or give him his deposit and say sorry. It was a 30x40 inch canvas too. The biggest I had every painted on. Instead, I kept going. In the end, it was a good learning experience, he loved the piece and is hanging in his beautiful home, along with 5 other of my art work he commissioned me to do. I was afraid of being a failure. But what I was feeling was normal. It was all so new to me. Your first two pages with the flowers was very nice and a fun abstract page. But I know how you feel when flowers don’t look right. Flowers are not always easy to paint. An impressionist flower should look a little close to the flower but in abstract art, it can be an upside down flower and some will like it and some won’t. For example, today I saw a piece someone bought, an old 1932 Picasso painting for $67.5 million dollars. I saw the painting and thought, I can easily paint that. How much? My mind was blown. Is it my style? No. But someone paid a lot of $$$ to get that painting. Your work turns out so beautiful all the time. Your expectations are high, because you are a pro at this. That is also okay. The circles with the butterflies came out great!! You have an amazing way of making your projects look fantastic. Don’t be too hard on yourself. I know it is because you are recording, but many of your members and subscribers are learning too, and this is a very good lesson for all.

I have a set of prompt cards for when I get stuck……things like scribble, add black, turn it upside down….they really help me. Also I leave a spread and come back to it days or weeks later. I felt at the stage when you were unhappy possibly adding words would have helped you . I don’t know,we’re all different thank goodness and have our own ways of getting through the ‘ugly’ stage. I was given advice of having some dried or artificial flowers handy as reference for drawing. Thanks so much for sharing your struggles 🤗🎨✏️💛🦋
