This is a great video, but as the other comments demonstrate, it assumes you already know quite a bit about working with epoxy and Qcel. Qcel is basically a filler you add to the epoxy to give it more volume and make it more like a putty rather than a runny liquid, and makes it easier to work with as it doesn't just run off your board like water when you are applying it for your repair. That being said, its easier for beginners to add the Qcel to get the consistency of the epoxy/Qcel right BEFORE adding the hardener, even though here the guy puts the Qcel after adding the hardener. Either way is OK, but the pros typically add it after the hardener because they know exactly how much they need. The first time I tried Qcel I put the hardener in first and then added Qcel little by little until I got the consistency to what I wanted. Unfortunately, the epoxy had started to harden by that time and I wasted the entire batch. I also questioned if the amount of Qcel he put into the "sanding" coat was the same proportion as he used in the "three cloth" mix, as the color seemed to be much whiter in his sanding coat, suggesting that a higher proportion of Qcel was used in that batch. Another thing the video did not mention was that if you are using a power sander, be VERY careful not to sand too much and sand into the foam. Although its tempting to use the power sander, just don't overdue it. If is slower, but much safer, to sand by hand.

Could you please give more information or a link to more information about the addition of Q-CEL to the epoxy. It seems it is added to every mixture. The sanding coat is much whiter, does it also contain Q-CEL? Any help would be great! Thanks

Interesting that he adds the filler coat straight away after laying the cloth. I suppose you need a thick mixture in the second coat so the cloth doesn't float.

I bought a used Pin 12'6" that has some very small dings near the nose. I know how to use cloth in a repair, but what is this material on the exterior of the board? I cannot find it on your page. This 'camo' model appears to be from 2009. Am I able to plug with suncure on small dings ?
