It's 2am and I just spent the last hour slowly playing moeller triplets or whatever you call them just to one by one look at what's wrong with my grip, wrist action and general movement because of this video. First time I've sat down like that in a while but hopefully this is the start to setting up good practice habits. Thank you, Mr Becker and Drumeo!

For practicing the second point, the upstroke downstroke -flow, I have been doing double stroke rolls with accented second notes on the downbeat of the measure. I feel like it's been helping a lot and thought i'd share this with all you beautiful people!

Ty Bruce , this was super helpful . I'm 55 and have been playing for years . Who am I kidding , I'm terrible but sorting out my grip has made a huge difference ! Thanks Again

Whatever you do, don't give up! Keep working those motion pathways and keeping your synchronization intact. :D It's like putting a layer of paint on every day; eventually you're gonna end up with a "finish" that's ten feet deep.

I’ve watched this video and several other videos of Bruce Becker and like his teaching style.....simple, clear and easy to learn. I have taken lessons from other teachers yet I still consider myself a beginner. I like Bruce’s style and was wondering how I could continue learning from him. Are there anymore KZbin videos of his drum lessons? Does he offer one on one teaching?

Really good video! I have played for 8 years but recently my index finger started hurting. I've started to use more of a Moeller technique the last year which makes me relaxed but I think my problem was I started playing too loose just like you showed at 3:10 . Cause when I played with a tighter grip I was still relaxed but my hands never hurt. Probably is that the stick is hitting and rubbing on the index as the others are too loose?

I hate to be critical but I've seen way too many videos on how to hold a drumstick and your application my work under certain circumstances but play A Hard Rock drum solo Locke John Bonham Don Brewer let's see if you don't get that stick close to the end really hard it's just frustrates me dozens and dozens a videos showing the same thing and the techniques are always the same however totally unrealistic and all genres of music and all drummers. Get "Stick Control for the Snare Drummer". The exercises are setup to place equal emphasis on both hands. Work through the exercises on the snare at first and then go back and orchestrate around the kit and add hi hat and kick.
