Great video. I got a Teddy Ruxpin for Christmas and still have it. The battery compartment is messed up and sometimes he works and sometimes he doesn't. I use to play Van Halen and other cassettes in him. If you turn the volume up enough it will make his eyes and mouth move. Not to the words or music. But still move.

I'm a teddy ruxpin enthusiast and I own 2 Teddy's, this is the story of teddy ruxpins The person who engineered teddy ruxpin was an engineer of the Disney animatronics, back in 1985, the talking Anamtronicic Illiop (fictonal-made up caricature made by worlds of wonder, in witch teddy ruxpin is) Sold so well, extra tapes were created, and 3 of the world's of wonder teddy ruxpin generations ,later on, a television series was created called "the adventures of teddy ruxpin, the caricatures included teddy (main caricature) grubby (teddys best friend) Newton gimmick (siantist) the fobs (fluffy little critters) the grunges, wholly-wahts-it, tweeg (vilan) and L.B (bounder that is tweegs sidekick),in 1987, worlds of wonder (the company of the first type of teddy ruxpin) went bankrupt, then in the 19s, teddy ruxpin was re released by Play skool, later on, yes entertainment took teddy, later backpack toys, then in 2017, wikid cool toys release a teddy ruxpin with blue, furby connect like eyes and connected to Bluetooth via the teddy ruxpin app, a tv series was planned but was later cancelled for unknown reasons Creepy pastas, myths, and legends were made of these, giveing them bad reputations like the furby Lots of fake teddy ruxpins, followed the teddy due to its success Teddy ruxpin fakes including: Gabi bear, smart Sam, sammy The dark parts of teddy ruxpin community __________________________________ Just like most things, teddy ruxpin has rule 34, if you don't know it's just gross art of random things from things like bluey, furby and even the teddy ruxpin, Just like most communities, teddy ruxpin community has toxic members and scammers People who fake likeing teddy ruxpins and secretly hates on the owners of them And just haters, Spammers, Trolls, And the list mey go on Fan arts! ------- All communities have fan art, weather it may be animations, ocs based on the caricatures, cute art or not so cute art, comic dubs and parodies, most tend to be good,cute art like for instance my pfp I made of my teddy ruxpin :3 Fan made accessories ----------------- While there being a lot of different official teddy ruxpin aaccesories, lots of community members take it into there own hands and make stuff for their teddy ruxpin, like necklaces, bracelets, more cloths and even shoes! 0:08 check the date again, copyright says "1984, 1985" meaning it came out in 1985. From what I researched, the prototype was first copyrighted in 1984, then pitched around to toy companies (hence why it was copyrighted before that so no company could easily copy it), then in 1985 an agreement was made to be manufactured by Worlds of Wonder. That's why it has two copyright years on it. They didn't release them in 1984, because no company had made them yet, late-1985 was his release not long before Christmas, which is why he was so hot that year, which carried over into 1986 again making him the best selling toy that holiday.

Randi, I’ve not seen any of your other videos but this one makes it very evident that your great with your hands and smart to figure stuff out. I’m wondering if you could tell me what use were using in the video to connect those little power clips to the servo motor to test them? Also, how much did the repaired Teddy sell for on eBay. I have one and might try and fix it. Thanks again!
@RandiRain Жыл бұрын
Honestly, I don't even remember and I would have to watch my own video again. If it was clips from a power supply, I can tell you those were junk and have already broke and I chunked them. If it was something else, I don't know remember. As for the sell price. I don't remember that either, but you should. I get people asking me to fix theirs all the time. If it's an easy fix, go for it, it would be worth it to sell.

Love love love your video! I was born in ‘86 and got one of these growing up! It stopped working many years ago but still have it in storage. There is definitly no corrosion damage. So I am wondering if the belts need replacement. Where would I find these little belts 14:50 ? And also, what’s the devise 18:12 you use to test the mechanics? Again! Thank you so much for your post!
@RandiRain11 ай бұрын
Thank you... I'm sure the belts need to be replaced. You can find a bag of different sizes on ebay real cheap. The motors might not have turned in a long time and gummed up. You can clean them up, or squirt oil in them, turn manually until it goes. The device was just a power supply to turn it on. You can use batteries or whatever to test it.

Great job on the Teddy Rux restoration! I had always wanted to see what one of these looked like inside. As for the tape, I kind of figured that they were using one channel for the audio and the other to control the face movements. BTW, looking up the wiki it says the toy was released in 1985, but it is likely that they had the copyrights earlier, or manufacturer if your Teddy Rux was labeled otherwise. That being said, it would have been one of the earliest production models. So you were 15 when it came out? You and I are VERY close in age. Nice to know you are a Gen-X'er as well! Great stuff! Keep up with the great work. I always enjoy what you do...bringing back these toys of the past back to life.

So, pro tip,... Red Cayenne hot pepper sauce,.. such as Texas Pete,.. for example has the ideal acidity to neutralize the alkaline solution from leaky dry-cells, and aids in effectively inhibiting, removing the corrosive substance, subsequently with 99% alcohol solution later.
@RandiRain2 жыл бұрын
Oh come on... I have like 200 videos on here showing my abilities. I've handled corrosion many times in my 50 years of life. CLR has the exact same neutralizing power, and it's better than putting hot sauce on everything. Matter of fact, if you go through my videos, you will see where I did try it once because I do know it works. I also know that it stains as well, so don't get it on anything. So pro tip... Ditch the hot sauce and just use CLR, preferably the foam bathroom cleaner with it. It does the exact same thing.
