how to fix your Flywheel Gear on your Lawn Tractor.

In this video I show you the way cheaper way to change a bad flywheel gear this way only cost about $40 and takes a bit more time but you can always just change the the whole flywheel on your riding lawn mower but then if your starter wheel is bad as well that's another charge there this way we can fix the flywheel gear and the starter so your starter will engage again on your riding lawnmower and you can get back to cutting your grass. Flywheels just go bad over time this plastic one did really well

Oh yea those teeth are in bad shape. Wow that plastic lasted 20 years. I can see why you didn't want to drill it that would be a lot of drilling. That tool cleaned up the magnet pretty good. Nice job brother.

I'm curious if this would fit a 14.5hp briggs model 287707. Appears to be the exact same flywheel.

It did not fit the other way because there are notches on the bottom side of gear that fit in between the magnets on the flywheel so it only lines up one direction.

The holes are not exactly at the 12:00 and 6:00 position. One set of holes may be at the 12:00 position while the second set of holes may be at the 5:00 position.
