Thanks for that video, sir. Ordered a B&S carb kit that has that little o-ring along with the other gaskets, etc. Thought about getting one of those new cheap Chinese aftermarket carbs and just replacing it.....but figured it would be better just rebuilding the original one. Btw....the Briggs kit is about $15 cheaper than the John Deere one....same exact kit too. Keep up the good work!

Had a s…load of gas blowing out of cylinder when I removed plug. That small o ring was toast so I’m guessing that is why. Think I’ll just throw a new ready to go carburetor on in case there are bits and pieces throughout the carb. Will check the oil to make sure no gas got in it.

I was wondering if you could tell me what’s wrong with my lawnmower my lawnmower would not start so I was thinking that it had a bad carburetor so I replaced it with a new one and it still will not start if I choke it it will not start but if I put my hand over the air intake to choke it it will start and if I spread my fingers apart to barely get air inside of it it will stay running but if I remove my hand it gets too much air and dies

100% something's gummed up and your carburetor and your fill lines in your fuel pump or you got bad gaskets so I take it apart again. Re-clean it and see if you can fix it again and replace all the o-rings and gaskets. Make sure everything is there from carburetor to intake and so on and so forth

@@jimmierodgers2397 try pushing that screw in some more but what I recommend is you're getting too much gas. Not enough air so maybe your choke's not opening all the way properly. My carb was flooding so badly, at times I would see fuel under the mower, and it would no longer start. I'd come back the next day, and it would run again. I tried all the tricks I could find on KZbin. I finally figured out the problem. It was the little rubber tip at the end of the needle valve. The tip was cracked about half way through and leaning to one side a little. It was an easy fix, once I figured out this was the problem. I had the mower looked at twice by our local shop, but they didn't catch this.

I am fortunate to find this video as you have pointed out that little O ring inside the carb and that little brass piece that falls out so easily and you my friend showed me exactly what to do and I happened to have an O ring set with that particular O ring so thank you so much for taking the time for showing those two things, what a life saver without costing a fortune.

My craftsman mower has new carburetor and spark plug. The previous owner said “it’s had a blown head gasket for a while but now it won’t start”. I removed the spark plug and fuel pored out. I removed the valve cover and fuel pored out. I Did a finger test on the Spark plug (⚡️👈 ) and it has power going to it when you turn the key. Are you able to diagnose with this information and save me time? Engine is an 18HP B&S 31P777 0299E1

Not 100% that I know of. I just wouldn't go too tight. I've never had a problem with them. Come and lose. You can put a dab of loctite on there to help

I ahve the flooding, but I just have a float, needle,seal, like a normal lawn mower carb has. Cub Cadet. I guess I need to see if I have the assembly that yanks off like that.

@@RepairGang Thanks I finally got this 115 running today. 1. The breather tube had a crack right behind the ridge. I was spraying outside of the carb with brake cleaner and spotted it. 2. The fuel lines were crossed up at the pump. Finally got them straighten out. 3.one end governor spring is hanging on the lever. I have to figure out where the other goes. I can't quite make it out in the manual. Anyway I got it running late last night and it sounds good. I forgot the oil that ran down on the muffler. I'd had the valve cover off. I let it run long enough to get hot several times and had the neighborhood smoked up. But it sounds good. Moving right along tomorrow I'll see if it will move.. Thanks again I appreciate it ..

My Briggs & Stratton will start and run fine but after I shut it off gas leaks into the engine. Does this fix that problem?
@billseivers3528
@billseivers3528 4 ай бұрын
Probably not. The solenoid under the float bowl usually sticks in the down position which lets the fuel pass through the bowl and into the cylinder, through the valves and into the crankcase. Be sure to check your oil and if it feels really thin, or if it smells like gasoline, then you need to replace the solenoid or install an in-line fuel shutoff to stop the fuel from flowing into the carb after shutting the mower off.

My dad's mower flooded all into the crankcase. I just got the o-ring kit and the small o-ring as you show here looks good just like the new one I just installed. I'm hoping the old one was dissolved a little from ethanol..... as again it looks good like the new one. I'll be trying it out tomorrow
