It worked! I bought a gopro 12 about a week ago and couldn't use an external battery pack. I kept getting the "Insufficient Battery" error. So frustrating. With your instructions, now I can use an external battery any time that I want. Thanks!

@@MrCphphx It will not give you. Just point it towords the QR, it will be red, and after that reset. You will see upon the reboot that you will be prompted that the software is installed

Hi Romania, im using gopro hero 10 black and can't use my gopro more than 10-15 mins bcz it get hot due to weather out here and also drains battery and not works more than half hour so i want to use external power source but it gives me error when i use external power source that not enough power, can i follow same steps you introduced??

For sure, I have the same on my hero 8. Remember, this is not a third party software, an unknown one. It is on the oficial GoPro page, a trusted source, same as gopro software develpment, so go for it with no hesitation. Thank you for watching my video.

This work as described but it does not allow my audio input when using external power. If I switch back to the internal battery the external mic and onboard mic of the media mod work just fine. Back to no battery and external power the mics don't work again. I have factory reset to no avail?

Terry, I have no ideea why. I am using an external microphone as well for my channel. Never had problems after this update. Normally, all this does is to modify the parameters of the camera to accept via usb power sources less than 2.4 amps, nothing more. It should work. I will look into it

Catalin, in GoPro labs, trebuie sa selectezi modelul tau de camera. La scanare, pare ca nu citeste, mie chiar imi arata un checkbox rosu. Merge ! Dupa ce scanezi, se aude sunetul ala. Pornesti si reporneste, ai sa vezi ca s-a instalat

@@rosta2899 I usualy keep the batery there when I am using the Volta just to have it as a backup. But, this is the beauty of this mod, it allows you to do it both ways, as you wish.

Great, I did and it works but.... After inserting the batteries while recording, the battery does not charge after this update, yesterday I was fishing, I had the battery and the power bank plugged in and the battery was charging all the time, after doing what you did during the recording, the battery does not charge, after removing the battery the camera works normally. What can I do to keep my camera with a battery connected to the powebank charging all the time?

That is a very good question. I think we have to look inside GoPro labs app to see what orher options there are to be activated. Maybe this option is there

Nu am intalnit situatia asta. Dar setarile acestea se fac in general ca sa NU mai folosesti bateria. Sa folosesti o alta sursa de alimentare, cum fac eu spre exemplu o baterie externa mult mai mare. Dar cauta prin meniurile GoPro labs ca sunt convins ca vei gasi ceva acolo

Am instalat gopro labs pentru ca imi doream sa nu am limita de timp pt Hindshot si acea setare ca sa l folosesti pemanent pe powerbank. Toate bune cu astea doua dar calitatea imagiinii a scazut drastic , mai ales in zonele de umbra. @@danielionut4738 m-am tot gandit la ce ai spus despre calitatea imaginii si poate, poate ca este doar o senzatie. De ce spun asta. Acest soft goprolabs, "pacaleste" softul camerei care este programat sa porneasca la o intensitate de curent de 2A. Atata tot. Marea majoritate a batery pack-urilor, au scris pe ele ca sunt de 2.3A sau mai mult insa in realitate pot doar 2A sau 1.9A; Nu prea are legatura cu imaginea, cu senzorul camerei (cel care pana la urma este responsabil cu imaginea). Poate doar ti se pare sau poate ca asa este. Am sa caut sa vad cum se scoate gopro labs si o sa fac un video despre asta in cazul in care cineva nu este multumit. Imi pare rau ca se intampla la tine asta.

Am facut al doilea test in casa , am dezinstalat labs , toate setarile in high , apoi am instalat labs , aceleasi setari calitatea a scazut , ca si cum ar fi sarit cu iso dublu fata de varianta default . poate pe timp de zi nu i sesizabil dar pe la iso 400 se simte bine diferenta .

I found that it was the quality of the the usbc cable.. I used the original gopro power cables that come with the device and my gopro 11 charges without any issue with a stand alone power source..

I ran my 11 on just the external power pack and after 20min it overheated and shut off..It was so hot I couldn't hardly touch it..Why is it doing this?

Sometimes also mine does that. Not always but it happened. I admit though I never filmed 20 min without stopping. I will look into it

Yes you need to have your camera updated by a normal update and after that install the gopro labs. It is really easy and it works

@@user-ky3wu5ge4s no, I say that the newer models, with the GoPro labs mod work. I have the 11 and run it for days with nothing but a 20000 mAh batery and a 512GB card. Perfect, no freeze, no problems. I have friends with 12, same there. I also still own the 8, and yes I confirm that it is not ok. It is just say that the newer technology gets the latest chips and the latest firmware, that's all
