The key to actually being able to back 180 for me was focusing to kind of "lean back" and stay upright, and getting a good pop. Something about that spinning motion makes your body want to fall forward, and just learning to overcompensate by kinda leaning your upper body weight slightly backwards behind your feet right at the moment you take off is what fixes it.

🤔 context also plays a role-Watch Jason Lee scoop a bs180 on flat. I think by your definition it would be “rocket” but I think it looks casual and nonchalant. Sure, I think it can get weird when you do this casual style over /on something more than flat ground. but I like the idea that bs180s on flat don’t need to be over the top executed, just clean and speed maintaining. My 2 cents. Enjoying your content.

It’s crazy, I was just working on this the other day. My issue now is I’ve been doing them rocket for 30+ years and it’s hard to break old habits. It also helped with the revert to 360.

Yo you should make a back smith video, there aren’t any good back smith videos in my opinion. It’d be cool to see a breakdown of the trick in your words and in the amount of depth that you go into. Currently I’ve been struggling to figure the trick out. If your down to make a video about it, it’d help not only me but anyone else that finds back smiths to be incredibly difficult. 🙏

If you can kickflip / fakie flip you can half cab flip. Put less of your toe on the board and flick more straight off the nose.

Using the word ugly to describe how someone else skates is kinda harsh. Mobbing or rocketing a trick isn't always bad but people get this preconceived notion that it is incorrect and ugly. Sometimes it is the best way to do a certain trick. For example if you want to do a bluntslide, you want to rocket the board on purpose. Same thing with a backside 180 to fakie 5-0. At the end of the day, skating is about having fun and freedom of expression. I think you're looking at skating incorrectly.
@haroldcampos966111 ай бұрын
Wouldn’t that be a back 180 switch nosegrind? I understand where you’re coming from but I don’t think you can 180 to fakies or switch 180 to nollie… if you did a 180 to switch 5-0’ I think that’s actually a thing. Not trying to be harsh.
@KenZENuff11 ай бұрын
@@haroldcampos9661 It's a different way to say the same trick. If I say backside 180 nosegrind, which is the most commonly accepted name, and you say backside 180 to switch 5-0, we're both describing the same trick, and neither of us are wrong. If you want further proof, search how to do a backside 180 nosegrind on KZbin.
@haroldcampos966111 ай бұрын
@@KenZENuffI understood you perfectly. But only because you said fakie. If you’d said back 180 nosegrind (you’re still talking about fakie) but if you said back 180 5-0 that would not be fakie 5-0 (that trick doesn’t exist that I know of it would be fakie nosegrind), I guess I would still think switch nosegrind for fakie 5-0 and switch 5-0 for back 180 nosegrind or I guess I would think seitch nosegrind for back 180 5-0 by your terms. So it’s not consistent. I feel like an AI that’s been duped writing this… good luck bro.
@KenZENuff11 ай бұрын
@@haroldcampos9661 Backside 180 nosegrind is short term for Backside 180 fakie nosegrind. If you want proof of what I'm saying, search "Berrics trickepidia, backside 180 fakie 5-0."
@haroldcampos966111 ай бұрын
