We just bought and installed an elaborate system from these folks. Our neighbors put in the same system before us and bragged about how great their water was, so I was sold. We are on a community well system and the water isn't great. So we got a US whole house 5 micron filter, and the oxidizer system, and finally a 70,000 grain water softener. Here we are a couple of weeks later and we are extremely pleased with our water now. Yes, it was somewhat expensive, but now we don't worry about ruining or appliances, faucets, plumbing, etc.

@MrJohnnyboyrebel6 жыл бұрын
I won't tell you exactly what I spent because that's the job of US Water Systems to give you a quote. Let's just say it was more than $3k and less than $4k. But worth every penny to us. The installation cost was extra because our house was not pre-plumbed for a water softener. If we had planned our custom house build better, we would have saved a couple thousand in installation costs. As it was, the plumber had to reroute all of our exterior hose bibs to keep them hard water (we let one of them go soft water to wash our cars.)

You need to clean your hot water heater with chlorine or heat it up to 160 degrees for a few hours. The heat will kill the sulfur smell. But if its just the hot water it has to do with your hot water heater. If the cold water smells good its not the supply water.

A couple of things... Chlorine IS a strong Oxidizer Chlorine's main application in dealing with 'odor' is killing the SR bacteria through shock chlorination, not removing the sulfur itself. Often the problem is the Hot water tank, and this should be looked at first (changing the anode rod for example) If there is a constant problem then Hydrogen Peroxide injection is a good solution.
@Toastmaster_50004 жыл бұрын
Yes, chlorine is a very potent oxidizer, but I think he meant the chlorine compound used for water treatment, which isn't much of an oxidizer (if at all).

Okay I got to the part of your video that says you have on h202 apparatus I had already posted about the hydrogen peroxide drip method that I use that work perfectly. But how can you say that Ozone gas wouldn't work when Ozone gas is basically hydrogen peroxide in a gas form as it decomposes it leaves hydrogen peroxide in its wake so Ozone gas is absolutely exactly as effective. If you bubble Ozone gas into a cistern you could literally if you had a hundred gallons in a cistern and you bubbles it for an hour you can literally leave it there for probably three or four days and the incoming water would be contaminated very well for a long time. You would not have to run it continuously I've worked in some of the biggest pharmaceutical labs in the country and I actually helped Beckman and Dickinson get approved for FDA approval in more than one of their facilities. Companies all over the world are going to Ozone gas for complete rapid decontamination of Machinery glassware you name it I understand this is an infomercial but let's get a little honest here. There's nothing that hydrogen peroxide brings to the system that Ozone gas wouldn't

I have the hydrotec 565 softener system. I have replaced my anode rod in the hot water heater it has helped the hot water. Although sometimes I think I still smell it on the hot end but may just be in my nose. The cold water still smells even after treating it with chlorine and letting it sit over night. Is this peroxide system the answer? The best or only solution? I haven’t had one quoted yet.
@uswatersystems6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Our Oxi-Gen peroxide system is the solution. The softener is not going to do much for the sulfur smell especially if it is in the cold water side too. Chlorine addition could work but there is no way to off-gas the sulfur with that oxidizer. The Oxi-Gen system we sell is the most robust system for sulfur. Period. It works every time it is applied correctly. You will need to confirm there is no methane or stray gasses in the water. You will also need to reduce the turbidity if any. It is also necessary to shock the well and run chlorine through all the plumbing prior to installing the Oxi-Gen. This will ensure all the bacteria in the plumbing system is destroyed. Then the Oxi-Gen system is put on line and the house is flushed with newly clean water from the Oxi-Gen system. Done deal!
@jew01826 жыл бұрын
US Water Systems thank you for the reply. I am going to “shock” the system once more but from the well this time. I don’t believe I got all the ”infection” killed last go round. Do you know much about the UV light systems? Those are something I was looking at as well. Thanks

Clorinators are and function very well as peroxide injection pumps. Peroxide is very fast and more effective than chlorine. If you have an injection pump you maybe able to just use peroxide instead. You can pretty easily buy 7% peroxide getting the 15% is not so easy. I spent thirty years treating water, my least favorite device injection pumps . You can buy a top notch pump and service it , or by an inexpensive blue and white every year. The cost and grief are about equal.

I have the hydrogen peroxide system, the water still smells absolutely terrible especially if you wash any type of polyester clothing. We have to take it to the laundromat. I have a well with the peroxide system and backwash filter and softener. I use a local water company that charges me $100 a month for absolutely terrible water. I called Culligan they told me the sulfur in my area was too aggressive for their smaller systems to treat that I have the best thing available... there's absolutely no way that is true. It is set up at such a high rate that the water stays cloudy even after 10 minutes. We will deal with the smell but I wish somebody had an answer of some type of inline water filter that can help for the washing machine. The washer is only a year old we use affresh cleaner every 3 months and it doesn't help.
