finnaly learned them took a while but super stoked the tips really helped i highly recommend trying it on resi first because it the easiest to commit as for me. very good tutorial

What if i learned oppo bris so instead of kicking it with my heel i push it out with my toes so im learning normal bris do im a goofy rider but i learned them normal (aka oppo)
@ChaseRost4 жыл бұрын
learning oppo bris is definitely good too, but doing them oppo and cathcing them from your butt side will make them a bit harder when dong them air. When you catch your briflips are they coming down in front of you or behind you?
@zachlatta18334 жыл бұрын
@@ChaseRost there coming in front of me my bris are fine i can catch them pretty high its just when throwing it i have to ride ski so it does around but when i buttercup and whip front i throw them properly

I have already sent it but I am landing in a frontflip. How do I fix that?
@ChaseRost3 жыл бұрын
i used to have the same issue. that makes it super hard to spot the landing. to avoid landing in a front flip, try to focus on the backflip part more than the 180 part. when you take off try to just go back and then do a late 180. this will help keep you from landing in a front flip. and as well it will help you spot your landing

Whenever I do flips on tramp or something I spin the other way but when you said if you stand in regular you spin right it doesn’t feel comfortable to flip that way do you have to do it that way?
@ChaseRost Жыл бұрын
I honestly have the same exact problem you’re having when I first started to do flairs. On a trampoline, I naturally learned how to 180 and 360 flip, spinning the opposite way. It definitely was a mental game when It came to sending my first Flair. But I’m so glad I sent them right the first time. It’s so much harder down the road tos soon the opposite way especially when trying combos. I would recommend definitely trying to learn spinning the correct way first, it will definitely pay off in the future.

Do you hit coping when you go for.the.flip
@ChaseRost4 жыл бұрын
Deagan Ritchie yeah coping can help you get the pop on the flair. Also when first learning Them, I’d definitely recommend trying them on a quarter with not super aggressive copping so it doesn’t mess up your rotation
@melrose_dash5 жыл бұрын
did you learn them in foam or resi? or did you just huck them on wood?
@ChaseRost5 жыл бұрын
I learned them to resi first. I was at a park that had a foam pit and I tossed straight flips into it. then I went to the resi and just went straight for the flair. ended up doing just a backflip to fakie type thing. but then i was able to slowly figure out the 180 and that was pretty much how I learned them.

Is practicing on a mattress at a skatepark okay if you don’t have resi near you
@redaction_mw58374 жыл бұрын
Yes but if u land awkward on the mattress you might fall over onto concrete or whatever, if u have a gym mat (not the thin yoga ones) the ones for gymnast’s that would be helpful
@ChaseRost3 жыл бұрын
yeah i would totally recommend bringing a mattress of you can. being able to send the first few to something soft will help so much. just make sure you don't leave it at the park over night. a lot of cities hate this and will throw them out the moment they notice them there

last year i tried flairs 5 times, didn’t eat shit bad or nothing but ive been too scared to send it since and i want too baddd, any tips? I was trying it on a 4ft
@ChaseRost Жыл бұрын
you got this dude!!!!!! i would recommend a 5-6ft ramp tho as it will give you more rotation so you wont have to work as hard in the beginning. i would also recommend wood ramps at a minimum. resi is best to help you get over that fear. just remember the first one is always the scariest.
@natanbtw49803 жыл бұрын
Every time I try this I just keep letting go of my scooter I dont know how to fix it also the first time I tried to concrete i just did a sideways backflip and landed on coping
@ChaseRost3 жыл бұрын
try your best to focus on doing the backflip part first. this will help you from doing a side flip and instead keep you inside the ramp a bit more. also try to send it on a slightly steeper ramp. something around 5-6 foot should keep you from worrying about landing on the coping.
@Stunters143 жыл бұрын
Is it ok to learn them without bieng able to backflip? Because i dont got a foampit near me and backflips are way scarier then flairs
@ChaseRost3 жыл бұрын
That it totally fine. Thats actually exactly what i did. i learned flairs before backflips. but i will say, being comfy with just backflips first would help but it is totally still possible. but try your best to spot your landing
@Stunters143 жыл бұрын
@@ChaseRost how did go your first one go? Cuz i saw that you learned it on resi but i just have to learn them to steel or wood
@ChaseRost3 жыл бұрын
i'm not going to lie, the first one i sent i ended up doing a straight flip to fakie and got the bars to the chest a little bit. after that one tho i pretty much forced myself to turn and then it started coming around
@Stunters143 жыл бұрын
@@ChaseRost thanks! Maybe i will take a try

I lowkey wanna send a flair now but I'm scared cus I ride a 6.5 deck and my scoot is like 14lbs so I don't want that bih to hit me or scrape on the landing. I can flip on foot pretty easy so I figure pop back drop my shoulder and look for the ramp🤷♂️
@ChaseRost Жыл бұрын
you got this dude! Definitely a wider deck can make this a bit more scary, just because like you said you gotta watch for the scrape. but besides that its all the same steps. if anything sometimes a bigger scooter can help give riders more stability on the landing as the wheel base is longer so you have better odds of not looping out. hope that kinda give you a boost of confidence too send it
@mariabriscoe46492 жыл бұрын
Bro just watching these gives me anxiety

watched your tutorial, battled w fear for about an hour, sent it, did an sideways 360 and landed on my ass xd, any tips for over coming fear?
@ChaseRost2 жыл бұрын
man it sounds like you did overcome the fear right there just by sending it. that is the hardest part for most. I would recommend a good set of butt pads. Definitely might give you some extra confidence to send them again. the next thing i would focus on is the backflip first then 180. that should help you start the actual flip so you don't do a sideways 360 again. you got this man, just keep telling yourself that and you'll get it.
